Re: Garden Sprayer Cannon (Chappy)
So when's the next installment? The chamber seems well suited to combustion use,the idea of a chamber fan for exhausting does seem feasible in fact necessary! Maybe adding one inline with the intake fueling charge that blows through to remove the spent gasses, thus using only the two holes for the fue...

Old Member,New Tricks?
Hello there fellow spudders,I've been inactive for quite a while now on this forum and spudding in general but since acquiring myself a hundred odd acres of land I'm keen to get back into the hobby again!I've got myself two pneumatic launchers as current, one small caliber inline and an over under go...

Re: Help with a combustion mortar please
Risk of the lighter on a stem type of ignition failing from a back burn into the butane itself is next to impossible,no oxidizer air/oxygen etc for it to combust. Think of the situation inside the chamber as an example.Give it a try,and if your still having issues try the tried and tested touch hole...

Re: Displacement Fueling/Venting Concept
A carbie Fueling system, like the idea it's worked well for so many years in other applications why not spudding. The chamber shape and placement of the intake would seem to have a big impact on performance, have you tried it with a non fluid shaped chamber? PVC pipe etc with voids/pockets of unburnt ...

Re: Help with a combustion mortar please
Follow as jrrdw says with the fueling, usually less is more I've found though. The spark gaop of .020 should work but try a larger gap if possible gives greater area for a ignition.
Just experiment with it.

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
I remember "rifling" a piece of HDPE tube back in the day with a dowel and nails,it well worked as expected as it wasn't very uniform or deep.Had large "hills" and "small" valleys probably not the best for soft projectiles, nothing to bite into. Many ways to skin a cat,or shape the inside of a tube.N...

Re: First Cannon In A Few Years
At the moment jack I'm using some alcohol body spray, alot of things are in limited supply or very expensive.I do have plans for pneumatics though as sending inert fittings by air is permitted but not volatile substances/fuels. This hobby never dies, just progresses mark.Pneumatics should be next on t...

First Cannon In A Few Years
Pretty much self explanatory, but it's been to long since I've been fired a spud gun so I did something about it.On a supply run I went to a Hardware store and picked up a few bits a pieces...It all came together so easily...like I'd done it all before. The mighty cannon features: Primer stains. 100...

I recently had a run in with spudguns again,well..I might have planned this run in but non the less it never looses it fun factor! An ol' spray 'n' pray that can bearly launch a spud 100 meters, but it's ignited that spudfire!
Pneumatics here I come!
