Yes, air will come out of the blow gun, but not much. Once the blow gun opens the sprinkler valve, most all the air will exit there, at a high rate of speed.

Ive been working on something close to this size lately and two things came to my attention on yours. The chamber length is pretty long. I was planning to use a chamber the same O.D. as yours but only 6 to 8 inches long. Im planning to use a hand pump though. Also I dont know what you are planning t...

It seems to me, for a pneumatic launcher, I would first need to drill and tap the end cap in order to put a trigger valve that would allow the piston to drop. Letting the air pass from the chamber to the barrel. However, if the hole in the side of the piston is too large, the air will pass straight ...

stainless check valve

I bought these valves from ebay. 21$ a piece. My plan was to use one in a piston hybrid but I don't think it can be done. What do you guys think? Im sure I can use one on a high pressure pneumatic. What does 800 W.O.G. translate to in psi? I would have to weld up the massive hole in the side of the ...

looking for a specific launcher

I know this is a long shot but I've been looking for hours these last few days and cant find it. About a year ago I found a link to a pneumatic launcher on this forum. It used about a 2 inch wye or maybe a cleanout for a valve. I think the valve may have even been clear. If anyone remembers this lau...

Can anyone give explanations or links that explain these things?

Captive bolt firing system.

Gas spring.

I guess I don't know how to use the search function. I get 800 pages of stuff that doesn't seem to help.

Thanks

Thanks for the comments guys. Technician, that makes since now that I think about it. More torq than speed I guess. I think the easiest fix now is to take gun freaks idea of puting a sealed piston on the front of the spring and getting a new barrel to make a compression chamber. then putting a small...

OK here it is. I thought I could take a spring to do the work of a bow. Just need a strong enough spring. So I used a spring from the front fork of a 250cc motorcycle. I weigh 200 lbs and it takes almost all my weight to compress this spring into the cocked position. I mounted a tension pin on the f...

No dark magic. A friend of mine brought a crossbow to work one day and challenged me to build a better one. Well you know todays crossbows are state of the art and have little room for improvement. But I did figure I could make an arrow shooter that was far less bulky than a crossbow with about the ...

so how well does using a blowgun for a valve work?

Worked pretty well. It was modified to allow maximum air flow. I wouldn't use it for anything larger than 40 caliber.
