The other day when playing with GGDT a little bit I came across that, and I figured that is what it was asking for.

By valve seat do you mean the size of the pipe that the piston sealing face seals? If so I am using a 3 inch pipe. The OD is almost 3 1/2", just barely under, and the ID is 2 7/8"

Impressive! How deep did the steel bar get into the tree? The steel bar doesnt go that far into the tree, maybe 4 inches? But we shot that at only 60 PSI or so. We didn't ever take the gun above 80 PSI, didn't see a need to do. I would feel comfortable going to 120 PSI though.

i guess it really all depends what you are shooting out of it. if you dont need a 1 inch barrel then stick with the 3/4 and get a 3/4 sprinkler valve.

loose the ball valve and get a modded sprinkler valve
and why not bump up to 1inch and instead of 3/4?

painted the cannon today finally bringing the cannon to my friends farm tonight. will be taking vids and pictures so i can add the gun to the showcase!

i tried the piston with the rubber bumper off and it wouldnt fire. instead of messing with it more i just put it back on. i know i am sacrificing performance with the added weight, but i am okay with that right now. i will save it for a different day to attach the bumper to the back plug.
