The valve isn't in the centre, it is a very tiny screw in thing off to the side (3-4mm or so in diameter). I thought it was a bleeder thing so it doesnt rise over a certain pressure.

It was just I read somewhere else that the diaphram was meant to be lubricated by the water which helps it sit back in place...

Hmmm, I think I may have to modify it after all then. The valve has a plastic bleed screw, so I should make sure that it is as tight as I can make it?

totse is mainly run down now but is regaining its feet, and has lost most of their vets... If you want to learn a bit try apcforum.net. It has quite a bit, but it might be a bit confusing if you know nothing of pyrotechnics. I myself also live in australia, getting KNO3 and what not, is not very dif...

But he does have a fairly long coil. I myself used 4 x 385V 3300uF and 2 x 450V 1500uF capacitors when I made mine.

It's hard to say, this is my first pneumatic, so I don't really know what a 'good' shot is. But in my opinion I think its a little wimpy. Edit: I was trying the lubricant because I would be happy if the cannon didn't make such a loud noise, and so that I wouldn't need to make the pilot valve larger ...

Help with lubricating diaphram in Rain Bird 100-DV valve

First of all, I was told that modding the valve doesn't get rid of the 'honk', instead they told me it needed to be lubricated. So, today I bought some valvoline grease with white lithium based stuff in it. I applied to to the whole underside of the diaphram, and my valve still honks. Any suggestions?

But the pressure wave isn't travelling in a direction to slide the silencer off the barrel, it is mostly being directed perpendicular from the holes (straight out).

The wiki didn't help much about honking with solenoid valves, but I think it means that my valve cannot handle the pressure too well. Would modifying the valve stop it honking?

Solenoid Valve pneumatic cannon is insanely loud

Hi, I was wondering if this is a natural occurence. I have built a pneumatic cannon wiht a 25mm solenoid water valve and every time i fire it at a high PSI, an incredibly loud sharp horn/fart noise. I was wondering how to possibly reduce this noise. I feel that this noise may damage my ears eventual...
