Sir, to make this, you would need infinite patience, but could I request that you find your way to a CNC machine at an institution?

Maybe you want to use a design similar to a recoil operated paintball gun. Always good to take advantage of newton's second law...(is that right?)

Hey man, have you considered using a burst valve to an air compressor and then just pulling the ring as a trigger? That gets a heck of a lot more flow than the shrader at least.

Ohh I get it. Yea, that would work to some extent, but the aerodynamics are going to ruin most potential. Try your best to keep the center of gravity near the middle. Oh yea, also watch out for for the projectile. It's going to be getting a lot of concentrated energy where the dowel is connected to ...

The pressure will not be a problem at all.

My 12v goes up to 250 psi. It's lovely.

Of course this doesn't answer the question, but I think you can get a 12V power pack that you can recharge at wal-mart... Either auto or camping section.

Wait. Is air going from .8cm to the 2.4 cm barrel? That's about a 3:1 ratio, so you can expect expansion to slow down 3x after it leaves that part.

I put a thin brass or copper pipe inside of the PVC pipe, bent in the back ends, so it catches air, and then put a spring in front of the pipe. Put a hole on top of brass barrel so the ball can drop in. So the action goes like so Air hits barrel, barrel flies foward so hole is exposed to T cartridge...

Nice man! I was trying to make something like that with door hinges....
No.

I might try to make one of these for nerfs. Good job!

Yea my goal was to find out why it doesn't work in the first place, and words just wern't enough since I'm such a dork. If it works that's a plus.

Anyway, I got plenty of work to do before I can even think of taking it on the field.

Check my thread in the pneumatic discussion section. Mine works so far, but one CO2 tank only gets me about fifty feet. I'm planning on hooking up another inline style tomorrow. Hopefully that will take care of the flow.

Not to mention it being super cold outside doesn't help.

I just think that making this a summertime gun will do the trick. And definitely. One paintball pops, and every one after that pops. I had to take the entire vortex block setup apart after they were doing it this morning. That's why I'm gonna carry my sidearm pistol with me. And the pipe is probably...

Ehh yea that's what kinda scared me at first. They didn't have any other kind in that diameter at lowes, so I very hesitantly used it. Then I went into my physics teacher's class and asked him about the pressure behaviour. We went though some things together and basically decided that the the pressu...

Whoa. I'm intrgued. How much mechanical advantage mechanisms must be in there to get such a high pressure. I know that with a pellet rifle, you have a decent lever working on your side. That's cool. Anyway, using a pump is really good to build massive pecs if you use it enough. To save the money, I ...

Oh yea ur right. I only half ass with 12 gram CO2s which decrease pressure right away in the chamber according to ideal gas law. That is a pretty massive tank, so yea, I take that back.

Took your advice guys, and I brought the barrel in more so paintballs directly feed into it. It works! =D Well so far. With one CO2 tank, I'm guessing it's getting about 20 bps in short bursts. It is also only going about sixty feet at a slow speed. I'm finding the problem is the CO2 cooling quickly...
