Re: "Offtopic-posts-topic" NSFW

Posted a while back about the racecar I had a hand in building... Anyway here's the [more] finished product at FSAE-A, we placed 5th from 26 entries, and would have been in contention for third place had a leaky fuel cap not cost us time in the tilt test. http://i.imgur.com/4AwB773.jpg Ground clear...

Re: Straight exhaust pipe tubing

Anyone know what kind of pressure this stuff is likely to be good for? I see that there is aluminized steel 1.75" OD 17 gauge tubing available that would apparently have an ID suitable for a golf ball. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/WAL0/47971/N0911.oap?ck=Search_N0911_-1_750&pt=N0911&ppt...

One who did not know JSR would read his posts and assume him to be a misogynist...

...One who did know him would already know that to be true

You'll definitely hit at least 3x10^8 m/s, and probably more than 4x10^69 J.

Muzzle energy compared to input/bank energy. Not easy to predict it without actually building and firing it.

What size engine goes/limited to on these? 600cc, 4 cycle engines only (Edit: that's a maximum displacement, you can go smaller). We run the 600CBR RR with lots of internal work and tuning, running a MoTec ECU. Looking at a smaller supercharged engine in the future. No restrictions on forced induct...

Anyway...here's what I've been doing lately (in addition to exams/assignments)... Our 2013 FSAE entry. Less than 20 days till launch to have it (almost) done. It may look like a simple spaceframe at this stage, but it's anything but- the CrMo tubes have been drastically reduced in weight and carbon ...

I actually asked my teacher about bluing and he allowed me to freely work in the lab when it's not been used. About explosives, I can get large amount of potassium nitrate from a friend and for this semester's chemistry project I'm thinking about making a candy rocket. In that case, cool- tha...

Which you can't readily take anything from (especially anything interesting) without a very good reason?

Edit: Incase it doesn't go without saying, don't steal explosive precursors people

Funnily enough, I shot clout last week (180m or so range depending on bow/age, target flat on the ground- a homage to shooting arrows over castle walls). My arrows are literally 10 times more expensive than those though, so it wasn't me :P

Not to be that guy posting about his gym trip on facebook... But what are y'all routines are far as fitness, health and strength goes. I've been going to the gym for a while and have started tracking calories, already having lost a fair bit (probably 10-15kg) this year from healthier eating. I was d...

It's in the photo, 90 meters away ;) I meant "with the arrow sticking in it" ;) I don't have any photos of the other end, but I can guarantee every arrow found it's way there. I'll be off shooting again tomorrow or friday, I can snap some groups then. (This was just for my girlfriend's photography ...
