Re: fl(air) gun - mechanically locked pneumatic cartridge for a 26.5mm flare gun
Mate, that’s cool stuff, I miss the days of air gun fabrication 10-15years ago. The online landscape has changed, social media has effectively killed off this kind of forum for many such hobbies, and the majority of the cadre that was keeping Spudfiles alive has grown up or moved on and there haven...

I thought this deserved a separate thread from the earlier development . https://i.imgur.com/ZP5B0Ep.jpg Cartridge with a Polish flare gun from the 1950s based on the Soviet SPSh-44 . https://i.imgur.com/cdt0G9u.jpg Cartridge disassembled, most parts are machined from 12L14 steel apart from the bod...

Re:
Sorry I know old thread. But any updates? Ha ha, yes very old thread now. Sadly I never went any further with this project, life got in the way. I have a lot more workshop capabilities now, but just not the time. I’ll get back into air rifle / air cannons again one day, this will be the first place...

Pnuematic nail gun = piston valve ready made!
I was helping fix a leaking nail gun today, and discovered they may be an easy source for a large QEV/Piston valve, trigger and grip, all in one package. Has anybody looked into using nail gun components? Seems they could be used as very reliable valves, think of the number of cycles a builders nail...

what size is your lathe and i see you have some really great lathe skills. cant wait to see more pictures of what you are currently working on. :) The lathe is only a little 14inch between centers with an 80mm chuck, perfect for this sort of thing. I don't think I am that good at lathe work, just s...

Well I manged to get some time to do some more work on the new QEV/Popoff Tee mag design. After spending a while redesigning the idea, I have started making a Coax style QEV Popoff. The Custom made QEV will be in a coaxial configuration with the barrel . The tee mag will be positioned in front of th...

Well after a long period not doing any spudding, a friend wanted help making a pneumatic tennis ball machine, and I finally got the bug again  Started doing some more work on the QEV popoff concept. One problem I have had with the popoff valve is the rubber seat getting worn very quickly. Aft...

That is a similar type to the one I have. It is best if you disassemble and clean the lathe before using it, to get rid of all the crapy chinese grease of it. Also worth lapping the compound and cross-slide and adjusting it. It makes a world of difference on the performance. Here is a link with some...

So does your ammo just fall in to the barrel, no bolt or anything? Also do you not get very many double feeds? No bolt, the magazine is lightly spring loaded to help feed the ammo. There is a small post behind where the BB sits in the barrel to stop it rolling back into the valve. There is also a s...

are you think to try the gun with higher pressure 30 bars ? Probably not that high. I will be aiming to run it at about 25 bar max, any more than that and the air tank dose not have much usable pressure margin, The highest I can pump it to is about 40bar. With the popoff system, once the air supply...
