Re: triple asco valve cannon PROBLEM
Honestly, it's a fair criticism. There probably won't be a visible performance increase with this configuration compared to a single valve and one chamber equivalent to the volume of the three chambers, unless the projectile is extremely light vis a vis its cross-section or the barrel has a much la...

Re: 7 Barrel Sequential Powder cannon - Product Video Shoot
Figured I should post the final result. I ended up using 1/4 od tubing and push to connect fittings and check valves to accomplish the filling. The casement is a wood frame with plastic sheeting wrapped around it. I wanted it to fire about once per sec...

Re: triple asco valve cannon PROBLEM
Is there an advantage to 3 valves? The pressure in the barrel once the valve opens can only be as high as the pressure in the chamber requardless of the number of valves. I would think that unless you had a very large barrel that the third valve would yeild a negligible performance increase. I am no...

Re: 7 Barrel Sequential Powder cannon - Product Video Shoot
This is for a product video and not everyone is cool with guns these days so we want to walk that line between cool gatling gun and harmless powder launcher carefully. I fdont want to make it look boring but I don't want to make it look violent either...it's the world we live in  Why would yo...

Re: 7 Barrel Sequential Powder cannon - Product Video Shoot
Thank you! And yes we will absolutely avoid ignition sources. I was thinking about that as well. I believe the shoot will be in an empty warehouse and no fire will be involved. We will also forbid smoking. I did come accross those diesel check valves and I think you are right about them being my bes...

Re: 7 Barrel Sequential Powder cannon - Product Video Shoot
Finished the sequential trigger system just now. It is setup to be adjustable in terms of delay between each barrel and it ignores multiple button presses within 5 seconds. If you haven't worked with relays before what is happening in the video is that...

7 Barrel Sequential Powder cannon - Product Video Shoot Proj
Hello everyone, I haven't been on here for quite some time but what was once a small hobby has given rise to a potential buisness opportunity. We are putting together a video shoot for a product in which we want to film powder in high speed (possibly with a Phantom camera). I decided to take on the ...

Mega Coaxial Piston Vavled Potato to Orbit Launcher!
Im planning to build my first piston valved potato (nature friendly) cannon. I have some experience with piston valves from my dart gun build which some of you may remember (see avatar). As of now I am not sure on the exact design as I am pricing it out and trying to see what pressure rated parts I ...

it was also at a distance of about 20' :D I may pull it apart get the piston to actuate better and the bump the psi up to 150ish and see how a coin handles it. EDIT: Ask and you shall recieve http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm53/braddubya/P1000150.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm53/bradd...

Thanks all for the comments and advice! If I decide to pull it apart I will definitely drill out the piston to reduce weight and make it fit tighter. For now though it is working pretty well  UPDATE: I tried it again at 100psi with some very interesting results! http://i293.photobucket.com/...
