A nice touch would be to rig up a turntable on a stepper motor so that you could increment the object in 1.8 degree snaps with the camera mounted on a tripod. That would give you 200 shots, nice and accurate. Hey Poland, you you want to post a link to the mesh you got back from ACAD ? Thanks Evil a...

JSR & LeMaudit inspired me to get of my arse and do some work on this project. So http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qpyyCbEGyY&feature=youtu.be A big thanks to USGF for his kind words, guidance and moderation of my less than practical ideas. The Z Axis is finished as well, it's just that I haven't se...

Gents, I saw a newly introduced 3d printer that uses a liquid polymer in a similar manner as the STL machines. It's progress will be interesting. Seems the 3D modeling curve is the steepest. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/b9creations/b9creator-a-high-resolution-3d-printer?ref=live It is indeed ...

CAD FILES
Ahh cool, I'll whip out my old hard drive when I get a chance and i'll send whatever I have. I'll send files for a pair of bmx brake calipers, just to see what sort of price it'd be, since brake arms are probably the most complex of the designs I have. What file format do you prefer? We can open DW...

Gents, How about a sabot that has a clock spring type mech built in . Wind up the arbor against a ratchet. Place and launch the Shuriken. As it travels the barrel, a pawl release allows the spring to impart spin on the shuriken. I could also see a version that has a lazysusan like rotating assembly ...

Lacking a means to induce rotation, the results would be poor to say the least. The basic shape is not aerodynamically stable. Once the sabot releases the shuriken will start to tumble almost immediately. True, potatoes aren't all that good either but it is the primary ammo of the spudgunner. It's ...

Gents,
we got an order for some so we made extras. Man, they disappeared real fast. The shiny area is flash reflection off the cutting fluid.

Gents, A short rant. Yes, you can get next to free units from the corner market or Walmart. The idea is not to get involved in a race to the bottom. Really, do you guys have a feel for what it takes to machine a "nice" part? Not to mention paying the rent, buying materials, keeping sharp tools in th...

Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1f6xFBIxNvk&feature=youtu.be @Evilvet, somehow I missed your video. You should be able to change the carrier frequency in the VFD. This can change the back ground ringing noise to a frequency that is less irritating. Also, the accel deccel time can be shortened ...

SB15, The site simply reflects the sad reality of the world. A lot of kids are really straying from the straight and narrow to buy PVC and glue up a pneumatic. To expect them to step up to combustion is really a stretch. Now to move past that and go Hybrid is like organizing a moon shot as far as mo...
