I'm just guessing but It shouldn't be too hard to get a .25cal bullet shooting at 500-700fps with a 10" barrel and 700-1000fps with a 14" barrel, right? especially if I made it Co2 powered. With a fast valve 500-700 fps is certainly possible (assuming a 31 grain pellet) though I would recommend hig...

I love the idea of removing the little Handle on the valve and installing a "trigger", looks like it would be mouch more accurate to fire and easier to hold during firing. How long is the Barrel? what size is the chamber? I take it alot has to do with the "polite valve" when it comes to performance?...

Sorry, I'll start my own thread as king questions then another when I do the build. MR. Sandman: Thats why I stated that I have to do more studying, thinks for the tip. What I stated above was just what I gathered from 10min's of reading, I knew I was not "on-point", so to speak. I know about airgun...

could I get away with a shorter barrel & smaller chamber, scale it down to large pistol sizes and still have high muzzle velocities in .25cal or .38cal/? It depends how much pressure you are capable of generating. Without the benefit of a long barrel, high pressure is essential for good performance...

now thats exactly what I'm going for for in my air gun build, simplicity in building and high power. question, could I get away with a shorter barrel & smaller chamber, scale it down to large pistol sizes and still have high muzzle velocities in .25cal or .38cal/? I'm aiming for 700+fps with .25cal ...

Cool, so is this a "QEV" style firing valve? I think "QEV" is what the valve is called? when All the air is dumped from the chamber for the one shot and then the chamber must be refiled before the next shot can be fired?. I take it this design is a muzzle-loader and not breech loader? I working on a...
