Re: Benjamin Model 30/30 CO2 Carbine Repeater "Hot Shot"

I pop up once a while for inspiration.
My most recent experiment was adding hop up to a BBMG and it does work. The hop up was also added to the tip of the barrel instead of the breech.

Re: Counter balanced hammer valve issue

The bleeding will not be possible in my case, I don't have the space for that.
Must say I'm stunt with this. I removed the return spring and the balanced valve would still close and no power increase at all. In fact I'm getting half the power compared to the normal valve :(

Counter balanced hammer valve issue

Untitled.png So I built a fairly well made counter balanced valve. Exhaust 7mm diameter with 9mm piston. Then I compared it to a conventional hammer valve with 6mm exhaust diameter and a shaft of 4mm. Turns out the balanced valve was weaker. My hypothesis is once the valve is cracked open, the pres...

Re: Valve jam with liquid gas

So I did more testing, the exhaust is too small and gas in liquid form does not flow and pilot the valve properly. But even if I fill it will gas in gas form, the piston get stiff after not many uses, the o-ring gets really dry. Any suggestion for o-ring material? Or I should used two o-rings so som...

Re: Valve jam with liquid gas

No, with air is fine. However I'm just trying to learn the reason of it, plus I was hoping to use the launcher quite mobile, the portability of a propane can is interesting.

Re: Valve jam with liquid gas

So I started with a coaxial piston launcher with plans to use solenoid to trigger it. However if I fill it with propane in gas form (filling with bottle pointing upwards) it kinda makes a decent Bang. Then I filled it with the propane bottle upside down so the liquid can get in expecting more power,...

Valve jam with liquid gas

So I have been toying around the idea of using propane with solenoid valves and piston valves. However the valve jams every few shoots. The o-rings on the piston are free float and seals fine, but the piston opens very slowly, as if the o-rings are swollen. Is it because of the cold? Any suggestion ...

Re: Short question topic

Any one could tell me whats these holes on the baffle are for? Like why isn't the hole/cut mirrored? Wouldn't' it cause non uniform turbulence?Image

Wow, SpaceX! Nicely done! Fortunately and unfortunately, I just love this sport a bit too much and ended up just being an engineer at Novritsch. No regrets though! and thanks for mentioning! Funny enough I was thinking of when I joined the files last night and what were my first posts so I checked i...

Re: Short question topic

Ahhh, that makes much more sense now. I baffled by the quantity of variables one has to account to build the most efficient spring gun. Thankfully no such things for HPA... Just kidding, I'm still reading that GTA thread, the guys over there are just insane about the efficiency and details...

Re: Short question topic

I always thought a light and fast trveling piston is better beacause it compresses air faster, reaching a higher peak pressure before the projectile overcomes the friction. I always imagined the projectile takes some time to start moving no matter how much pressure is behind it, therefore a fast pis...
