SHow high preassure will this compressor handle?

Salvaged an ac compressor unit a while ago, its very similar to the one in this thread: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/ac-unit-compressor-t22899.html Is there anyone here who haved tried to take similar units to their breakdown-limit? I would like to be able to use it at about 40 bars preassure, bu...

The different will be nigligible i think, like the diference between CO2 and air. I thinks 200x would be most powerful i think, because, we often use burst disk with a hybrid, its the best fire system after vavless system in theory. And the pic of pressure is reacher very quiqly, while pistons desi...

Surprised noone's mentioned how unsafe this is yet. You have HEAPS of oxygen in that chamber, which can very well lead to destruction of seals, oils, etc. and can be very undesirable. 1000 PSI with ~71% O2 could equate to in excess to the equivalent of a 200x hybrid mix if the circumstances are rig...

My first, dangerous, spudgun

This was the first gun, ive made it togheter with a friend. At the beginning it was just a ordinary spray-and-pray. But after som time i added a syringemeter and a chamber fan. We use butan as fuel. We realized from the start that building a spudgun of this kind of pvc is a bit dangerous, its not pr...

Atm means atmosphere. It is equivalent to 14.7 . Yepp, but i thought atm was only a old swedish abbreviation that were replaced by bar. Ive got atm printed on the old tubes at home and bar on the newer ones. That's very odd. The used to measure most pressures in atmospheres? I dont know, have only ...

Where I work most of the time we measure pressure in absolute most of the time. We work with Torr and portions measured in millitorr. When we open up process chambers the pressure inside goes from a low pressure to about 780 Torr or one atm. Depending on the weather, this pressure varies and is not...

(Currently running 30 cubic inches at 150 psi) Help Needed......thnx!!!! CHEERS What is most efficient depends on ...

Fan va nice! :P I also wonder what sort of compressor and chambers are used? And how is the breech is designed? Tackar ;) The compressor is a fridgecompressor. The chamber did i weld myself to get what i wanted. Found out during the welding that there was very hard to get it air sealed to 40 bar wi...

A mathematical question about preassure

If we have a circle, the circle has an circumference at 10cm. Inside the circle we have a preassure at 10kg/cm. Does that mean that at the circle's side is exposed to a tractive force at 100kg? (10kg*10cm=100kg)

If not how do i calculate the tractive pressure the side are exposed to?

Just some questions. How much pressure can the brass fittings safely handle? Is 50 bar safe? I think especially because of my piston. I want to keep the aluminium piston if i will increase the preassure because of its durabillity. But the piston do weight about 50 grams i dont know if that is safe t...

Fridge compressor, generaly can work at 40bar maxi or 580psi. To up it to 70bar, or more, ou can dispose two compressors in series, but it's very dangerous and you must to be informed on the subject. Yes, but im just interrested in how much other spuder has tested their fridgys to and what parts us...

Which preassure destroyed your fridge compressor?

I did accidently raised the preassure in my compressor to high and the cylindertop gasket blew at maybe 60-65bar, i forget to open a ballvalve... I changed gasket and fixed it but it blew it again today at just 38 bar. :(

How high preassure did your fridgies handle before fail, and what part failed?
