Re: Lathe Pistons on a Drill Press for Cheap (w/ a Collet)
I really would like a centering tool for the opposite side of this wonky collet set up, but if I drill a hole into both ends of my pistons just slightly off, I would have to shave them down into a perfect cylinder again but they are already at the size I desire which is why I used an external rather...

Re: Lathe Pistons on a Drill Press for Cheap (w/ a Collet)
Yeah this is probably the sketchiest thing I've done with power tools, but I was just looking for a cheap method that's precise 'enough' for what I build. I never thought of using a 2MT dead centre (not sure what it is) but if it's cheap, safer, and precise I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for t...

Lathe Pistons on a Drill Press for Cheap (w/ a Collet)
This is basically how I'm going to make my pistons from now on. All of this technical information is copied directly from the YouTube description. I'm hoping this method will help beginners and veterans alike try some new machining techniques for those of us who do not own a lathe. I have never seen...

Re: Is this Shock Pump worth it/what are good brands?
Lo and behold, I'm digging up a really old thread because I didn't realize I posted this three years ago. I'm working towards HPA and I had questions about it, but what do ya know I already have a thread with a lot of answers. Instead of making a new thread I figured I could just keep all of my rele...

Re: Short question topic
I use some European made ones Ah yeah, I figured it had some sort of plastic diaphragm. Darn, was hoping to get a steal on Amazon nonetheless. Thanks for the response. Also I wouldn't mind shipping in from other countries, but the last time I did I had to deal with BSP and that's a hassle for the t...

What's the deal with regulators? This one has a gauge with 160 PSI: https://www.amazon.com/Bostitch-BTFP72326-Regulator-4-Inch-Thread/dp/B00HXD2V36 And this one has a gauge with 200 PSI: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KYOXDFU?psc=1 As far as I can find, that's the maximum output pressure it can regula...

Chamber/Piston to Barrel Ratio for Choking?
Hello hello again, winter is approaching which means it'll be time again for my yearly pneumatic build. This year it's either going to be a big hefty boomer at lower PSI (aka 100) or a compact HPA metal rifle (similar to Jorge's current Youtube build). But while considering designs for the large PVC...

Re: Bought BSPT fittings...and I live in USA?
Thanks for the replies guys, I've been busy helping a friend prepare for Dragoncon and forgot I posted this topic. My smaller slide valve came in the mail, and just as I predicted, it fits into the smaller QEV perfectly even though their sizings are completely different on those store pages. Careful...

It's been a loooong time coming for me to finally try this set up: http://www.spudfiles.com/how-to-database/topic23626.html However, now that I've finally bought the parts on Ebay it looks like what I have are BSPT, and don't fit well (and is not recommended with) the NPT fittings I have. I currentl...

Nice work so far!
Are you planning on making the valves or using premade? That one you have so far looks really slick.

Replica Tihar (Metro Pneumatic Rifle) Possible?
Hello hello, back from the dead for another year. Some background for ya: It seems I can't escape spudding no matter how much time passes. I made a new friend last semester who is really into cosplay and video games. He's pretty awesome at making stuff: http://i.imgur.com/Yjf3tI1.jpg He likes post a...

Re: Piston Gun That Shoots Multiple Times
Have you considered using a regulator to fill the "firing chamber" to a lower pressure than the reservoir? Instead of starting at say 120 PSI and reducing power each shot, why not fill the reservoir to 120 and regulate down to, say, 15-30 PSI for nerf darts? I have considered that actually, and I m...
