I'm thirty. I have always liked blowing stuff up. Growing up, while kids my age where playing G.I. Joe and Transformers, I would play with lighters and gasoline. I first lit my parents house on fire at age 6, again at age 10. Later on, I became a saute chef because I liked to flame the pans. I got p...

Here's what I found out. It has 2 valves that fire a split second apart. The first is low pressure to get the punmkin moving and the second is higher pressure for the volocity. My uncle didn't know too much (or at least didn't want to tell me to much) about it. He just invested in the project and he...

I use propane or mapp. The gas is metered and injected. It's the most reliable fuel I have used. I haven't messed around with anything more powerful. If I woulden't let my 10yr old pull the trigger on it, I don't use it. From what I have read, it seems propane is the standard. How come its not on th...

I have totaled out 5 cars now, though. It's so much fun I hope I never learn my lesson.

Holy Sh*t, I feel old. I drive a '90 dodge datona. I got it in return for work I did on a guy's house. His name was Guy, now that I think about it. It gets 26 mpg highway. Quite economical considering my 40 mile commute to work. Its not a real lady getter but thats ok. I don't think the wife and kid...

I have done lots of copper soldering. Here's some tips. Clean your copper at the joints really well. They make products for this, but I usually use some vinagar and a scrub brush. Make sure to dry the copper really well afterwords. Next, scratch up the inside of the fitting and the outside of the pi...

It's f'n freezing here (MI). I keep my gun inside. I fill my gun inside and do one shot at a time on the deck. Hey BLB, you got any numbers on the combustive properties of LP at sub freezing temps?

I don't know if it was on mythbusters. I know it was on monster garage because my uncle brought the tape of the show to the family Christmas party this year.

Ya, I don't have the scratch to shell out on ordering materials right now. I can get stuff from home depot on my work account. (I work for a building contractor) My boss is very lenient when it comes to paying for my personal supplies. I think I will have to shelf my current design idea and wait unt...

Check this out. This is my uncle's pnumatic gun. It shoots a 10 pond projectile 4,821 feet ! WTF! (No wonder my family was not that impressed with my gun.) They have won the world championships 3 of the last 4 years. They would have won in '04, but they overshot the entire range, which was clearly t...

Thank you, BLB.
I figured it wouldn't do much good. Sch 80 is scarce around here and there is an abundance of sch 40. It seemed that doubling up some 40 would add strength, but there really isn't any feasible way to accomplish that.

Sleaving large-bore pipe for added streangth?

Where does the president keep his armies? In his sleevies. Has anyone tried sleeving larger diameter pipe? My idea is to sleeve a solid piece of 4" sch 40 into a piece of 4" sch 40 that is sliced lengthwise down the center on a table saw. It will leave a gap, but over all, it should be considerably ...
