Re: CO² extinguisher hybrid

Superb! and fuelled with a syringe too, for the win! Yes, it's very easy to fuel precisely with a syringe, but quite boring because of the big chamber, even at mix2 I need 6 full filling with a 60ml syringe Ohh and it's always good to see more europeans here :-) Thanks, i'm already on a french spud...

Re: Valves, particularly, QEV and slide valves

Sometimes there is a difference between cheap european QEV which are made out cheap aluminium and have poor tolerances for the threads and more expensive ones which are nickel plated brass with better machining

CO² extinguisher hybrid

This is my first hybrid, built during the holidays because I had too much free time, the chamber is an old 3,5L fire extinguisher (supposedly strong enough to hold 264bar), it's fueled with a big syringue, ignited with a piezzo taken from a cigarette lighter and an homemade spark plug, and uses burs...

Re: help on butan and oxygen powered cannon

Damn, it's scary That's a big issue if oxygen is so dangerous, but those airguns were using HP, you think it could detonate even at atmospheric pressure causing a DTT ? The problem with hybrids is that we have to use a burst disk and replace it on each shot, or use a piston which is hard to make wit...

help on butan and oxygen powered cannon

I have been a big fan of pneumatic cannons for a long time, for me a decent cannon was air powered, and all my cannons were air powered, pneumatics are powerful ,reliable, etc but I have to say they are not very practical when you want to leave you suburb and go shooting outside with your overpowerf...

Re: Mythbusters supersonic pingpong ball cannon

Yes, they always use some kind of ball valve, and this time their HP tank had a very small exit hole, something like 3/8 for a 2" barrel, very disappointing

Re: Double QEV 1"1/4 cannon

Compared to french cannons it's powerful, but compared to spudfiles' standards it's probably not so much ;)
the piston is currently made out of bolt, nuts, steel washers and a piece of plastic tubing, but my brother has access to machining facilities and could perhaps make a better one for me.
