Re: Exhaust value with decent trigger feel
The pressure release button from a tire inflator has a short stroke and s solid feel, and lends itself well to all kinds of trigger linkage possibilities.

Re: Pilotting with a QEV?
Yes, it does. My question is how do I equalize the pilot area?
Ok, I got it working by drilling the piston and putting in a spring. I will post some aftermath as soon as it warms up a little.

Pilotting with a QEV?
I know ahead of time that this is probably a dumb question, but I have been raking through the archived posts for the last few nights hoping to find what I need and it may just be that I am getting kinda dense. I built a 2.5" launcher with a 2" Galcon diaphragm valve and used a 3/4" Orbit sprinkler ...

Re: Charging a pen gun
Thank you. I was going to try to remove the center pin of an air chuck. This makes sense for filling, but without the pin, how will you fire it?

Charging a pen gun
I know I probably missed existing info, but I looked a lot. What is the best way to keep a pen gun from firing on pulling off the chuck? Is there a way to air up a schrader valve equipped gun without mechanically depressing the stem?

Re: Net gun
Sweet! Have you tried it with projectiles to check the timing of all four valves? If not adjusted I am thinking the net will hit at a much less effective angle if not bolo off the last barrel to spit and head in a less desirable direction. Can be not good. I hope it works though. It is a beautiful t...

Re: schrader opening pressure
There are springless schrader valves that close on air pressure only they use for putting pressure on water supply systems in homes. They are very compact as well and go in on a 1/8 npt thread. They cost about $3.00 apiece at a plumbing supply store.

Re: Poor Man's Lathe (DrillPress)
For an accurate circle on the drill press, start out wit a piston that's a little too large. Get a bearing in a block to mount in a vise bolted to your drill press table and machine down your piston round to whatever you use for a shaft. leave the bearing and the vise in the same position to cut the...

Re: My First Pneumatic Launcher
For a quick projectile, try concrrete. Saw off some uniform lengths of the pipe your barrel is made from, wax coat the insides and fill them with quick-crete. they are semi heavy, high impacct, barrel-protective, correctly sized, and frangible.

I prefer to mix 1:1 without a thinner and there is about a 2 minute window where is is clay-like and can be pressed into a mold. It can also be used to make a mold for epoxy casting. Have fun!

Oogoo
Has anyone here done any experimenting with oogoo (silicone and corn starch)? I made a piston for a 1.25" chamber out of it and it seals beautifully, but it wont release above about 10 lbs. I assume it's because of the silicone expanding on compression so I'll just have to build a solid piston. It m...
