Re: 30 Foot Potato Cannon
You'd have to get some bushings to reduce the 6 chamber size down to 1/4 inch. Most of these will be pvc and can be cemented into the chamber. After you get down to 1/2 inch or so, the last bushing (1/2 inch to 1/4 inch) will probably be brass and can be threaded in. Then, just screw in a 1/4 inch n...

Re: Shuttle Valve = QEV?
Alright, now I'm really confused. After some further research, I've found a TON of valves that claim to be both quick exhaust and shuttle valves. What do I believe? Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-2-PARKER-OR-50-QUICK-EXHAUST-VALVE-1-2IN-NPT-B276190-/381008535117?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item...

It's quite possible that nobody knows the answer.

Re: Shuttle Valve = QEV?
A shuttle valve is not the same thing as a qev. I suppose you might be able to use it, but it would require a lot of extra parts and strange routing to get it to do the same job. Look up shuttle valve on Google, and you will see what I mean. It is designed to have two different pressure supplies to...

Shuttle Valve = QEV?
Hey guys! So here I have another stupidly simple question. As some of you know, I'm building a 1/2 inch piston valve-operated cannon, and I'm trying to find myself a nice QEV to fit it. Recently I stumbled across several items called a shuttle valve, and they look almost identical to the QEVs that I...

Re: QEV vs homemade piston valve
Also, I apologize for my inexperience, do you guys have a preferred type of QEV? I mean, between the rectangular block style, the spherical builds, and the heavy duty Parkers/Deltrols, which valve would provide me with the safest (200psi max) and best performing cannon?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

Re: QEV vs homemade piston valve
I hear ya. The first one especially like you say. I have went the diy route on my few projects I guess without considering cost. I was more interests in the build process than anything else, more " I want to see if I can do this" than, "I want a cannon". Of course performance was a goal but I found...

Re: QEV vs homemade piston valve
I've seen some used QEVs listed on eBay for as low as $10. My previous attempt at building a QEV (which I rushed) cost upwards of $15-20.

QEV vs homemade piston valve
Helo, Spudfiles! I'm about to begin my 3rd air cannon build, and this time, I plan to make a smaller air cannon(1/2 inch barrel) working off of a quick exhaust valve. However, Since this is my first cannon that won't be utilizing a ball valve, I thought I'd ask you guys: does a homemade piston valve...
