PVC and ABS pipe for the barrel
I know that pressurizing PVC and ABS pipe is dangerous, but what about for the barrel? Since the barrel isn't sealed, it isn't necessarily being pressurized like the chamber. It's mainly used to direct the air flow. I presume the amount of air pressure in the barrel would be relative to the weight a...

Re: Paintball Artillery Gun
I decided to take a break from the artillery gun in order to build a mortar. I wanted something that I could finish sooner so I could test out my ideas in a paintball match. Hopefully the mortar will prove to be effective, so finishing the bigger gun makes sense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xL4O...

Re: Electro-pneumatic Eclipse with Air-burst rounds
If airplanes or drones were ever used in paintball these rounds could be used as flak fire lol.

Re: Rapid firing air cannon?
I noticed alot of info on air cannons on the web date back to 2000-2010. Similar thing with scenario paintball stuff like building tanks. Have the laws changed since then that discourages these things?

Re: Rapid firing air cannon?
seems they use a spring return ball valve with what looks to be a paracord loop as a trigger very similar stuff https://alternativepaintball.com/paintball-goodies/ Their website appears to be partially down. There blog tab is empty, and there is no contact info on their contact page. It looks like ...

Re: Electro-pneumatic Eclipse with Air-burst rounds
Pretty cool. I am most interested in how this could be used in paintball/airsoft. I'm wondering though if the round fails to discharge in the air, how would it hurt if it directly hits someone? Paintballs might be a little big to fit any considerable amount in it. And you still have to consider how ...

Re: Rapid firing air cannon?
After doing some research and thinking I realized how the principle of this probably works. There actually still is 2 chambers, high and low pressure, but the low pressure one is so small its not noticeable. Its like how there's 2 chambers in a paintball gun, the high pressure chamber (air tank) and...

Rapid firing air cannon?
I am wondering how people build air cannons that seemingly have no air refilling time. Here's a couple videos showing some of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75osjenPLWw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PJIiQ3tkIc I don't see any air compressor anywhere, not even a large noticeable air tank li...

Re: Paintball Artillery Gun
I got to physical work again on the prototype gun. I'm starting with the gun and building down from there. I built the platform the gun will sit on and hooked up the recoil system. The gun sits on a small platform that is connected to the base using drawer sliders. You can also see the breach loadin...

Re: Paintball Artillery Gun
I made a video demonstrating the concept for it.
I decided to forego the legal trailer idea. There's too much involved, its also more expensive. I still plan on towing it off road though.

Re: Paintball Artillery Gun
I'm continuing to flesh out all the details. Double checking all the proportions to make sure its turnout out the way I want it to look and feel. I started thinking about the possibility of towing this like a trailer. I made some provisions for a leaf spring and a tire fender. There's alot of other ...

Re: Paintball Artillery Gun
Working out the dimensions of the carriage. Such as ground clearance, legs, and more. Lots of rethinking of how all of the systems will work. Finally found a ball bearing platform for the horizontal movement so I don't have to rely on a wheels. Figuring out all the math and loose end of the pulley s...

Re: Paintball Artillery Gun
Here's some pictures of the 2nd prototype. Its a 1 1/4 inch barrel that allows a 2ft shell to be loaded. I built two different breach loading mechanisms I thought could work. The first is a screw in breach that has the air enter from the bottom. The 2nd is a cam lock where the air enters directly fr...
