Re: Rapid firing air cannon?
Paintball had a collapse during the housing crisis, and it lasted long enough it never fully recovered. Obviously still around but not quite popular enough to sustain sales of some of the more specialized and expensive equipment. Legal concerns are icing on that cake.

Re: Latest Eclipse Defense 37mm Pneumatic
Iknowmy3tables, I am not really active elsewhere but will try and be everywhere once we are in production. I will also be able to share more details of the system then as well. Thinking about getting onto some airgun and firearm related sites to preach the gospel. Any recommendations? Wethearmed.co...

Re: Finding copper pipe parts
Epiphany for combustion designs at least, solder to npt adaptors aren't too much, so I can use a smooth copper barrel, and cheaper(and incidently stronger) steel for the chamber. For pneumatics it's still square one. I'd like a design I don't have to machine on. That means finding a decent part to u...

Re: Finding copper pipe parts
A combustion and a pneumatic. I actually sketched out the piston valve so the pilot is off to the side, ideally this would make it made out of smaller plumbing parts so fewer big pieces would be needed. I feel more comfortable with metal than with plastic, but steel pipe has the seam, and so doesn't...

Finding copper pipe parts
I was looking at copper for a couple of designs floating around in my head, but when looking at a decent sized gun(would want 1-2" barrel, and reducer to go from that to a 2-3" chamber/valve), the price of copper parts made me go :o Before I go looking at making my own parts oit of aluminum and braz...

Re: Hacksmith of potato guns?
There are a LOT of related projects that would tkae up time. Belt fed? Also make a "tactical" pickup with it. Even go the extra mile and find some video game theme to back it up. Spotlight a particular machine or design feature for yet another video. I could get a weekly 10 minute video easy. there ...

Re: Hacksmith of potato guns?
I've thought about it, even done some plotting. It would have to take off pretty quick though, there are only a few designs I could do without a decent shop, and I'd need the revenue to go hardcore fast. It would be fun to do eventually but I need more financial stability if I'm going to do it on my...

Hacksmith of potato guns?
Has anyone looked at doing something like that? He gets most of his revenue from ads on his videos, both from Youtube and from his own inserted sponsors. He makes enough to make some pretty big projects, and employ a few people on top of having an impressive shop. I've seen a few such makers make po...

Re: Calculations related to pneumatic cannon.
I was a little off. I was looking more at the combined law, as here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ideal_gas_law
My vague memories of chemistry had them the same.

Re: Calculations related to pneumatic cannon.
The ideal gas law is probably more relevant to this, as it considers changes in pressure, volume, and temperature, all of which happen. You'll probably have to do it the same way I'm looking at when I someday get to more complicated projects--you measure your velocity, calculate your pressures and v...

I found a gatling cannon
Not exactly like how I want to make it, but glad to see I'm not the only one that likes the crazy stuff.

first post and models
I've been prevented from messing with potato cannon for a while now, finances and such. This is looking up for 2020, so I've been looking into designs again. Goals are to get into higher pressure, scratch machining from aluminum (partly because of looking at higher pressure), and repeaters. I made a...
