Nice man, I also had trouble with a 4" to 3" barrel sealer. I ended up using a 3" endcap piston and messing with the gasket forever. Works now though. Another thing that I noticed is that big reservoirs take a while to fill. I know that most people are trying to help with the comments about the DWV,...

No offense taken, I'm decent at playing first person shooters because I used to play the doom series a LOT when I was a teenager, but I have no idea about technical issues. I don't know what my ping is, my connection is roadrunner via wireless card, don't know if that tells you anything. Thanks for ...

Whats the !!$!% problem?
I have a question that I can't find an answer to elsewhere. Maybe someone can help me out. I just got a good connection and updated/registered my copy of the Half Life gamepak. I'm very new to net gaming and have been playing Deathmatch Classic, and when playing , people keep remarking: Where's the ...

My 6" pipe has is rated for 180psi according to the writing along the side. The 4" I believe is 240 and the 3" 260. The area connecting to the valve is some reinforced by some 2" pipe that I slit with a band saw and slipped over the 1". Thats why you can see stainless steel screws there. The cover o...

The chambers are about three feet long and I don't know how long the "barrel" . I say that in quotations because it's just a piece of pipe that I intend to cut off and add a male 3" adaptor to. The permanent barrels will probably be around 4 feet I think. The barrel area has a 22.5 degree elbow. The...

Well this is something that I've been working absent-mindedly on for a while. Yes, I know that I used DWV fittings. I don't need to go above 60 psi ever. I takes forever to fill. My chambers are 6" and my elbows and cross are 4". The barrel is not permanent and will be replaced with a male fitting a...

Amos, most of my cannons use 3" endcaps as the piston body. The barrel seal that I use for 2" barrels is a thick gummy gasket that I think is used in sink basins. The best one that I've found is in the plumbing section @ Lowes. In the sink hardware and gasket section (the aisle next to the pvc parts...

I don't completely understand what you mean by contact points, could you elaborate a little bit? The piston itself will be completely housed in the rear section of the cross fitting and the barrel sealing gasket will be on the end of a threaded rod attached to the piston. I'm doing it like this so t...

Yeah a pic is worth a thousand words. All of my cannons thus far except 1 use a 4" piston valve like this (almost) and work really well. The only thing I'm not sure about is mounting the sealing face on a threaded rod and moving it forward. Oh and the bends are all 4" so I don't think that...

Barrel sealing piston with "floating seal"
I am currently working on (hopefully) my last project in my pvc addiction. Its a dual 6" chambered barrel sealing piston cannon with a 3" barrel. The setup is thus: The two 6" chambrs feed into two 4"elbows and then into a cross. The piston is going to be housed in the rear section of the cross. Now...

Hey its cool that this is under discussion bc Ive been thinking about this very thing. I can get sprinkler valves but its a pain in the nizzle and I don't want to anyway. What I came up with are two simple options. The first is to make a simple dump valve by finding two pieces of pipe that fit insid...

Yeah I know the deal with drain waste and vent, but thats all that my Lowe's carries, and I never go above 50 psi anyway. I agree with you guys that pressure rated fittings are the way to go. You do know that some deep socket fittings are still DWV though right? I wouldn't trust that a deep socket m...
