It's currently just an upgrade to the sprinkler valve that was on the metal cannon in my avatar, it's now this new valve's pilot.

I wonder now if it was the rubbing alcohol I cleaned the parts with that made it work this time. Maybe skin oils prevented the first glue from sticking properly.

I've used a material called Foamie, available at most craft stores.

Make sure you get the 3mm kind, it will be smoother. The larger is more porous because they pump more air into the mix.

I glued it to the piston with Goop.

Success!

The Amazing Goop held. The new piston face didn't get blown into the barrel port.

I fired it into my hand at 40 PSI and it felt like a high five. Valve empties the chamber in less than half a second.

I have a blowgun launcher.

I've shot them too fast at a dart board, they bent.

When the front stops, the back wants to keep on going.

That's why this is fake.

I once had a pop bottle fire off it's coupling and hit me in the stomach. That's why we started driving screws in there. A lead musket ball my father insisted on firing nearly penetrated our fence with a busy street on the other side, if the pressboard wasn't there it would've gone through. The musk...

When you said BB I was thinking you destroyed a Copperhead or something.

I was just gonna say WOW!

But disintegrating a solid plastic sphere is quite a feat too...

This is why some rifle bullets explode, rapid deceleration causes the material to break apart.

0.3:1 ratio?

So my "Kandy Kain" isn't as inefficient as I thought it was.

Dad said I didn't rough the PVC enough for the glue I was trying to stick well.

I'm going to try GOOP tomorrow, it says right on the tube it's a sealant. It's what we used on the pop bottle tanks all those years ago.

I had to change the springs anyway, the original ones were too strong.

It's coming from the socket connection, although one screw was leaking, and I used teflon on that.

I guess I could try some sort of gasket or o-ring...

He's still using the power from it to launch a ball.

It's still a firearm.

Well that's the thing, I tried to use teflon and wrap a little gasket and it still leaked. Teflon's only good for threaded parts I guess. The extra disk actually helped though, I guess because it was a thinner more dense foam. The thick foam is probably just bubbled with air to make it bigger anyways.

^Ghetto, :D After fixing the other parts today I noticed that it leaked out the back, through the only connector that wasn't solvent welded. I also needed to add an additional foam disk on the front. I'm using more of that Welder Contact Adhesive, so we'll see if that fixes the leakage. Once it got ...

One socket is the barrel/outlet, the opposite socket is the pilot (hook another valve to this part), the third socket is connected to your tank/chamber.

Your piston must seal against the barrel port if it is a barrel sealer.
