I'm having a 2" porting 500+ PSI stainless steel piston valve machined soon. Should I tell the shop to use a different material? A neoprene rubber bumper will be used. Actually....stainless steel is way over the top, plus it's expensive! The piston could be in the weight range of a couple of pounds...

Would the Type II PVC on McMaster serve the purpose as well as Delrin? I'm having a 2" porting 500+ PSI stainless steel piston valve machined soon. Should I tell the shop to use a different material? A neoprene rubber bumper will be used. @saefroch: I would really use a bumper, even if it is minimal.

Yeah were getting a spark, i got my dad to hold the spark plug while i pull the cord. He got zapped :P Im not sure about the carburetor though, How would i tell if it was broken? Carburetor problem maybe? You could check that, is it making a spark?

(off-topic: one of our mowers had a connecting rod shoot out the side when I was mowing :lol: )
