TalonXxX thanks for your response i like your idea of using a check valve that is integrated in the piston but where would i be able to get something like that. By the way i am building it in a 2inch tee just as my first one to see how it works out.

Well...how far were they shooting the balls? That would play a major factor in how much PSI. I watch mythbusters, but i have not yet seen this episode. If all 6 "barrels" or what ever you want to call them were all positioned at equal angles into the chamber at equal spacing, AND all the barrels wer...

I ave had several guns that were made of PVC. I never liked to opperate them in cold weather, but i have shot them in temps as low as 50 degrees. I never liked to run any guns (pvc) over 80, for fear of failure. I know that sch 40 is pressure rated, but it isnt worth the risk to mea, after i had a g...

Piston Valve Question

I am designing a piston valve for a upcoming launcher and i was wondering if anyone that has build a successful piston valve could give me some pointers on how to build the actual piston. My idea was to use a lathe and grove the piston for o-rings but i would like to know how others are doing it. An...

Starter fluid works well. We have even attempted to spray rubbing alcahol and other liquids in using an airbrush, in hopes to atomize it enough. Good old hairspray, krylon clearcoat, and starterfluid is still our primary fuel though. Maybe I will try Specialist's idea.

I like the breach loading mechanism. Your ball bearing idea is great, especially for that size barrel, and the breach loader. Nice JOb!

If you tap it in the back and have the barrel coming out the neck, that would flow great. You just need to see if the bottle will accept pressure or not. It it does, tapping it would be easy. Actually i may look into trying this also.
