there are already a few string loaded pneumatic ball valve guns on here. but if where you i would just use a sprinkler valve, though pneumatically actuated ball valves aren't bad. you just need to create some type of pneumatic ram to turn the valve.

for the schrader go to a tire and auto shop and as for one they generally give them to you for free, because they replace them after each service.

i made a crossbow not long ago. the problem with the pvc is that it soon becomes brittle . try using wood (what i did).
