I use old electronics for target practice. I shot a old toster oven to pieces with my BB gun, which really was too weak to really kill the oven. My crowbar didn't do too well either. I finished up with the .22 and in the end, it had about 200 BB dings, a couple deep scratches from the crowbar, and 1...

Although I admire your innovation Thank you severe loss of power Ya, I know. many recoil-less rifles have the same problem. those are a cross between a rifle and a bazooka. Half the gas pushes something forward, half the gas out the back. Except this time the gas out the back creates the backblast....

Its true firearms are for killing. I own an SKS, its supposedly the "poor man's deer rifle", but I didn't buy it to kill things. I bought it for cheap, high-power pinking. .22LR was fun for a while, but it didn't last. 7.62x39 is really fun. Its like little explosions when the bullet collides with s...

the whole reason belind using O2/Prpane was to make it as powerful as possible, the gas system won't work properly if the pressure is too low. It also allows for a small combustion chamber. I've been building guns for quite some time, not spud guns, the other kind, I see this as a good challenge to ...

I like it either very big and powerful, or small, compact, and have a fast fire rate. What I'm building now is small and rapid fire. By big and powerful I mean howizter-power. Theres no point in building anything in between. Its less work to buy a double 12 ga, hack it down to legal limit and blow s...

My spud gun plans.. pls give feedback on it
I made an eariler topic about building a spud gun, it wasn't about 30 minutes ago i decided to lay it all out on paper. The goal is to build a gas-operated semi-automatic spud gun/rifle. The picture is really big, (2217x1700) to show the various tiny details. Its not that big of a problem for people...

I might need a rifled barrel. I'm build an hybrid (if you can call it that), I don't know whether it'll be benefical, I need 1/2" copper pipe, about 26" of it, my main projectiles will be AA batteries and front-jacketed lead slugs. The AA batteries should fit well in the 1/2" copper pipe, it fits we...

It sounds like your building a howitzer. Or a large field gun. If you could, use a really big barrel- like 5" (125mm) or 6" (150mm). Get a steel (or similar metal) pipe and just weld everything on a frame of some sort. That way you won't need quite as long a barrel and you'll get to shoot much large...

Combustion AT4 (or similar)
I saw the completed pneumatic AT4, but wouldn't a combustion version of the same model be better? (more realistic) If I decided build the combustion version (where I can get a simulated back blast) Would it still work if I had the chamber with the end open- like this? http://img266.imageshack.us/img...

Back on topic, its harder than it sounds. light bulb glass is very thin and breaks really easily. the best way to cut glass precisely is to etch a cut with a ultitly knife or something and carefully squeeze the socket end with a plier until the socket end's glass breaks and then you get the bulb. Th...

what you should do is go to a larger hardware store, where they sell many different kinds of pipe (copper, steel, iron, etc) with your 10mm projectile and look around until you find one that fits. Most larger stores, like Lowe's or Home Depot sells pipes 5ft (1.5m) or 10ft (3m) in length. Then buy t...

some fishing lines comes clear, if you shine a very bright light at one end, to some extent you should see some light at the other end. And because fishing line was not intended to transmit light, its not total clear, and some of the light is lost along the way so the line would glow. Normally fiber...

Chain shot and mouse balls. I wouldn't fire either of these at any kind of living target, except perhaps trees and shrubbery. Lamp chain fits down any kind of 1" or larger barrel, but requires some wadding. Mouse balls now days are hard to find because most people use laser mice instead of the old k...
