Well Once again I'm gonna come across looking like a dork , but..That vid is giving me new and twisted ideas : Howzabout a canister round made from paintballs and a couple 'O Trojan magnums? (Pre lubricated of course!)

I'm sure cannister rounds for paintball have been done before, though a paper cup would seem like a more appropriate, cheaper and infinitely less messy sabot

Improve your canisters, go shrapnel!

Though this would be an incendiary projectile and thus against the rules

Not necessarily - a shrapnel projectile doesn't get its force from the bursting charge but from the forward kinetic energy of the moving shell, the explosive is just there to burst it open and spread out the contents.Though this would be an incendiary projectile and thus against the rules
If you could make a mechanical delay that was say spring-loaded to tear the shell apart a given time after firing, you'd have a similar effect without resorting to explosives.

Or maybe shoot a thing with air pressure inside.
Like a gun that shoots a gun that shoots projectiles.
But the second gun wouldnt be an actual gun ofcourse.
Or a gun that shoots guns that shoots guns that shoots ninjas that shoots stars that shoots swords that shoots bombs that shoots rabbits that shoots guns that shoots spuds...........

Judging from the air distortions the projectiles are leaving behind in the second clip, they would only be going roughly twice the SOS, wouldn't they?edit: here's a video of the M1028 spewing out its payload at over 4,000 feet per second
I remembered a time when I modified some code in Unreal Tournament which caused a shell fired from the flak cannon to spawn 2 more shells when it impacted. Needless to say, the game crashed.Or a gun that shoots guns that shoots guns that shoots ninjas that shoots stars that shoots swords that shoots bombs that shoots rabbits that shoots guns that shoots spuds...........

The published data I've come across suggests a velocity of 1410 mps, that's about 4,600 feet per second. That's close to other 120mm rounds of similar weight._Fnord wrote:Judging from the air distortions the projectiles are leaving behind in the second clip, they would only be going roughly twice the SOS, wouldn't they?
Assuming each tungsen ball weighs 10 grams, that's a whopping 7,000 foot pounds of energy per subprojectile - that's more than double the energy of 7.62 NATO, so each shot must be equivalent to at least 25 seconds worth of firing from a minigun
