Copperhead slugs (with damage pic)

These are some slugs that I made out of 12 gram C02 cylinders (they were copperhead brand, that's where I got the name). They are extremely accurate, and they have quite a bit of power. I cut off the nozzle side of the cylinder, then hot-glued a marble into the nose of the tube with the rounded off end. They were very easy to make, and work very well. The marble is in the nose because it adds weight to the front of the cylinder to keep it from tumbling in flight. Each cylinder is about 2 inches in length, and they fit very well in .75 inch pvc (but a little tape would help). Enough said, here are some pictures.

Thanks, as soon as I use up more CO2 cylinders I'm gonna make more  Also, I'll have a few damage shots tomorrow.

Yeah, that's what I did, but I got tired of them tumbling in the air.
I should be able to get some damage shots tomorrow, unless it snows.

Hmmmm good job.

I saw a topic a while ago about a jsr making a projectile out of half a co2 cartridge, lead solder as the front weight and a shotgun shell sleve as a tail.

Edit: Tell singularity to make these and launch them out of his 25mm sniper cannon. In his last vid the co2 cartridge tumbled and hit the side of the box, making a lot of "WTF that isnt a ****** sniper" or "Your aim sucks" you tube comments.

Not bad.

I'd personally have poured a few ml of molten lead into the nose but it's all good as long at it's nose heavy.

You confused me there when you said Copperhead - I automatically associate that with Hotwired's beautiful cannon.

Nice ammo, but something denser than a marble would be a better choice - a steel ball bearing would add some weight and shift the COG forward a bit, which should make it more accurate and powerful.

You know mouseballs, well take off the rubber and you have steel ball that weighs more then a marble. :)

i never bothered launching them with the end cut off, i just used the co2 in my air pistol, then shot them out of my ow air "rifle". mine always tumbled end over end. at 100 feet they would hit withing 2 or 3 feet of where i aimed. they arent bad projectiles. they do a lot of damage when they hit too.
