Buying Ammunition
Hey Everybody, this topic is to share good deals on ammunition (such as golf balls, marbles, paint balls, etc.) that you have purchased and where you got them/if they are available online or to others of the spudgun community. If they aren't available to others, post them anyway, it's still interesting to see how much people spend on ammunition and what kind of deals they can get.
To start out, about a week ago I went garage-saleing and bought 15 dozen (180) golf balls for $30.00. They are all brand-new/lightly used. No scratches or cracks on any. If you ask me, 17 cents/golf ball isn't that bad of a deal. I plan on using them in my upcoming SECRET project. Muahahahahaa...
So anyway, share your stuff and brag about your amazing deals you got.

Last year, I had to do a project in Chemistry, to make a model of a Vanadium atom. I decided to build it out of golfballs, so went to Academy. You can get a bag of about 40-50 recycles for 30 bucks. All in excellent condition. It's good if you don't feel like ordering golfballs online.
This time of year, they have tons of those little red boiling potatoes for ridiculously low prices (crawfish boiling). They fit good in 3/2" SCH-40 and are roughly spherical projectiles.

i go to paintball stores and ask for the paintballs that have broken paint in em and usaully get them for free and 3/4 of all of them are perfect condition
very good idea...I'll have to try that sometime...
all you have to do is wash them in soap and water if the good ones are contaminated with paint. Nice idea, thanks brother361!

I was at Home Depot yesterday getting parts, and I found these Ramset fasteners. http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/produc ... 57_300.jpg
They look like they could be pretty good fletchette ammunition if you shoved the orange vanes back and cut the head off to stabilize weight. They're about 12USD for a pack of 100 3" ones. Has anyone tried these?
Also, carriage bolts with added nuts for weight are pretty cheap and tough, and they provide a decent seal.
Glue sticks also fit very well in 3/4" schedule 40, and you can find a fair amount of them lying around in school if you're lucky.

Naw, i'm about 50m away up a 15m hill and none of the courses face my house, the greens are at the other end.
I can shoot downrange with my GB cannon on about four holes from my house
Landed it on the green once, that was about 388m IIRC.
