well i put the pump and motor on top of an old propane bottle and welded some 1/2 pipe steel on it to atattach the inlet and outlet i can adjust the pressur switch to turn of as high as 230psi but if i hold it open it will get to 300 the motor dosent stop but i think the dead space in the valves and above the piston is to cause.
the motor is a 1/4hp one single phase
the pump did have 2 pistons i tried it in this configuration but the motor struggled past 120psi all a bought was the gage the rest was ether being thrown out or given to me
when the motor cuts out the is a check valve between the pump and tank with a check valve the is a little valve on the switch that releces the pressure in the pipe allowing the motor to restart without any load.

How do you keep it from rolling over? Did you weld legs on it?

at what was originally the bottom of the tank their is a bit of box steel tacked on i would like to put some wheels on it and a handle as it is bloody heavy

here at least you can buy a cheap stick welder for about £40 takes a bit of practice i think i will have to open a tin of paint. after this picture was taken i have caped of the hole in the crank case were the other cilender went aswell.

The hard part is getting proper penitration and having it look good at the same time.

Have you ever tried stick or even acetylene welding? It's quite easy if you can keep a good puddle going without overheating it (spatters and you lose your puddle).

I'm not a half-bad welder myself but I don't own a welding machine, i have to use the school's.

But you should really try it, it isn't as complicated as some think and it takes the worry out of "Oh No! I can't find an adapter for these two pieces!!" lol. Just weld em together.

But there are some cons that aren't too serious but ill list em anyway:
*if you don't cover yourself up good, you can easily burn your skin.
*MUST be careful and aware of what you are doing at all times or you can make highly regrettable mistakes
*Cost of the machine and sticks/filler metal (depending on what type of welding you decide to do).

You STHORNE lol. That is a nice compressor for pressures not so much for looks. But who cares about the way it looks it works. (I tell my mom that when she see's my school projects hehe)

lol, you can "barely solder" because you think you can "barely solder". If you stick your mind to it and practice good techniques, in time you will become skilled
