Couldn't believe my eyes when I accidentally ran across this. I didn't check pricing or anything but it sure looks like an easy, convenient way to get custom parts made. If prices are low then this is going to be the way I go if I just need a couple small parts, instead of asking a big machine shop to stop what they are doing to make my embarrassingly small order.

Sorry moonbogg, but I have tried this place, and be prepared to spend A LOT of dough on even the simplest of items.

Depending on what tools need to be used, it is an expensive service, but I imagine you get what you pay for.

Im sorry, but that is the price per unit, but the machine setup costs are massive, so I would say, unless you're in the business, or just need one specialized part once every 30 blue moons, then you should look elsewhere.

as said, the pruduct cost is low enough (still high). machine setup fees are HUGE! it is good for large quantities.

Yeah, i'm not shocked to find out its expensive. Oh well. I'd be better off buying a few simple tools and doing myself. MAN I wish I had a little lathe and mill. The designs I could make for so much less...

Depends.

If you had a lathe and mill of decent quality plus tooling plus maintenance costs plus any issues in learning how to use everything...

...well that's not a cheap setup cost either.

I don't know if I'd ever invest in machining-ery, I just have such occasional desire to make anything. Less hassle and cost to go down to the local machine shop with some sketches every six-twelve months.

Depends how much you're going to use them in the end.

you can buy one for 300-600 $
if i live in usa i buy but in my country is cost 1000$ the same you buy for 300$

Very expensive, but ok if you're making many of them. I'm downloading the cad software to try, it's only 12 mb so nothing to lose. I'll get back to you.

Yeah, uhh MoonBogg based on your plans from (I think it was) your last topic, just the part that would hold the pre-charged cartridges would cost more than $1000...

P.S. I can't remember the name of the part I described above, but it is the revolving three-shooter disks... Sorry for the weak explanations.

I work in a small CNC lathe shop, and no way you will ever get anyone to make just a couple parts for under $300-400. The program setup, tool changing, wasted scrap, and time is not worth it for them.

After a very quick look the software has nothing on even sketchup and is more difficult to use to boot. I'll persevere though and see what I can get done.
