Finding .177" pipe
Ok, I just found out I can buy 6000 .177" steel bbs at a local store for about $16 USD. I have plans for a single action rifle that shoots .177" bbs. Does anyone have any idea where I can find .177 INNER DIAMETER pipe. I have googled it and looked on McMaster Carr, but couldn't find anything. Also, please don't just say "go buy a commercial .177" gun and take out the barrel and use that". If I bought an air rifle I would use it, not take it apart (unless it was broken). Thanks Yall!

BB's are not manufactured to precise standards, you need a slightly larger barrel, such as

ok. thanks, I will look for that
ok, so even with the slight size variation, they won't get over .18"?
EDIT: but 4.5 mm is about .183"...so do you think .180 pipe would be big enough?

yes .18" would be great. And you could, if this is serious, buy .177 barrels, they have prices between 50and 100$but are great quality, a thing to consider perhaps?

I have the tubing rp181 linked to and its a great fit. So tight that pellets have trouble fitting and bb's take a while to roll down.
I'd suggested getting something to sleeve the tubing in, because the walls are thin and the barrel will be bent by the recoil. I'm still looking for something suitable; soon I'll order a length of 1/8" pipe and try that out.
Also 4.5 mm equals 0.17716535 inches, not sure where you got .183" from.

While many people would do that, like myself... He said that if he would buy a BB gun, he would just use that.hi wrote:you buy a cheap bb gun and gut it.
Maybe someone should just hit him over the head and hand him a bb gun barrel when he wakes up.

1/4" brakeline from the auto parts store of your choice. (NAPA)
.177 pellets fit near perfectly, it'll handle several thousand psi, and the best for last....
ITS CHEAP.

No, it's actually 0.177165", and steel BBs are usually made a bit smaller (4.4mm - 0.17322") to compensate for BB guns with rifled barrels that can also take lead pellets.maverik94 wrote: 4.5 mm is about .183"
Barrel tightness is important for power, have a look
I use copper tubing with a true 4.5mm diameter, it comes coiled so there's the problem of straightening it out but otherwise it's perfect.
yeah, but I think i'll go with what I said above, daberno123 says it works great...so...

two options for the best fit, one buy a cheap bb gun, for 20 dollars and scrap the barrel
two: go to your local hobby shop, the will most likely have a lot of small diameter pipes that are made out of brass. this is how i got my .177 pellet barrle, i epoxied it into a piece of 1/2inch pvc to get it to go into the valve.
