So I spent hours putting a fan in a 4"-to-2.5" reducer fitting. I knocked it off the workbench and it hit the floor and cracked, busted pieces off on the conical part (reduced part) and the 2" stub glued into it stayed in but pieces of the fitting broke off around it. WTF? Are these that crappy of plastic? Should I worry about pressure in my chamber?

It's using 89.5-90psi and I even tapped the holes for the electrodes and fan contacts through double thick PVC. Now I'm worried. I havn't seen anyone else blow theirs up but ti they break that easy I don't know.

Can I use a coupler instead? You know, the flat fittings that fits over a 2" but right into the nominal 4"? Maybe that would be stronger?

I'd make the whole thing out of steel but can't find light enough pipe. Pretty much the only thing PVC on my cannon is going to be the barrel and chamber anyway but it is what it is.

PVC is strong but brittle like glass.

Try ABS instead.

See my test cannon in my sig.

A fragile PVC part was replaced with ABS on this cannon of mine.
