I am new to potato guns and almost have my first completely. I only need a 4" to 3" pvc schd. 40 adapter.
1. whats a decent barrel length for a beginner spud gun ran off of compressed air?
2. is it better to go straight from a bigger chamber (like 4 inch pvc pipe) directly to a 2 inch barrel? in my gun im almost done with goes from 4 foot of 4 inch pipe to 3 foot of 3inch pipe and then to the barrel of 2 inch pipe. the release valve is in the 2 inch barrel, about 3-4 inches out then the rest of the barrel.

Sorry if I seem like a newb I am just need some help. Also I know a bit about air compression and velocities and such as I am an avid airsofter. Thanks any and all help is great!!! :-)

Hmmm. Why kinda valve are you using?

I think that would help. And something like a 4-5ft barrel. Nothing too short like 1ft but something to your convenience.

An airsoft bb moving at 500 fps compared to a golf ball or potato slug moving at 500 fps is a big difference. Just remember haha. :bom:

Thank you for responding. my barrel is around 2-2 1/2 feet long. Also i have a ball valve.
I finished it and it works fairly well.
