I am. I've got a Traxxas Brushless Rustler and a Duratrax Evader ST. (And the Duratrax sucks in comparison.) I also have 3 gas planes that my uncle gave me, which I have yet to fly because there is nowhere to do so, and I can't get the damn things to start. I also need new NiCads or NIMH batteries for the remotes. And the wingspans are like 4 feet, so yeah...

I tried planes and helicopters and decided it wasnt the best idea. I plan on putting a brushless setup and lipos on my rc18 for more speed. But first I think i will mess with gear ratios just for fun.

There is some formula that the guys at the shop were trying to tell me for optimum gear ratio. (Balanced ratio anyways.) It was something like the gear had to have 4 teeth for each decrease in turns, starting at some number, idk. It was a rule of thumb. Too bad I can't remember. My rustler is FAST. It goes about 35mph on only a 7 cell 7.2v battery. It is 3600mah (I think) so it lasts about half an hour. If I go with an 8.4 volt 8000mah LiPo I can get 70mph out of the thing if I put the high speed gear in there. The truck also has so much torque that it can burn the tires on bare pavement. No smoke, but the tread is half gone after only about 10 runs. The truck was only about 220 bucks for all that. I was impressed. It is durable too, which I proved lol. I think there is something wrong with the how tight my gear meshing is, because I burned up 3 spur gears in a week driving it normally. (No slamming it into forward then reverse and crap.) I would recommend getting this thing if you can.

I got to lay of on buying trucks. I just had to basically rebuild the entire front end of my tmaxx. Will lipos alone had more power?

I did R/C cars a long time ago but I tore them up with rough terrain. I'm thinking about getting back into it only with a gas powered one this time with a good 30+cc motor.

Do any of you guys have a rock crawler. I think it would be so cool to have for awhile. I think I would get bored with their slow speed thats why I havent got one "yet".

I don't want a rock crawler.... Too friggen slow. Yes, their ability to climb rocks is amazing... But seriously, who wants to stand next to their rock crawler and watch it go up rocks that you could easily climb yourself? (And I would rather do so.) I like the speed and agility of the other vehicles because I at least know that I can't do that... And, because speed is cool. Rock crawlers can't even go off jumps! :(

EDIT: Any of you guys have problems with the Rustler shredding its gears?

Which would be a better option? A) A 2s 2100mah lipo pack or B) Get twelve 3.7 Volt 780 mAH Lithium Ion cells and make 3 battery packs, which would be 7.4 volts and 1560mah.

For those of you who have a rustler what kind of run times are you getting with what size battery?
