You know not of what you speak about AMDspudzinger wrote:Anyways that my comp, for some reason I dislike AMD, really dunno why, probably the crappy grapics on their stuff.
First of all, the graphics are (mostly) dependent upon the graphics card, not the CPU, so Intel vs AMD doesn't really matter when discussing graphics.
Second, AMD just bought ATI, the world's leading graphics card manufacturer, so.... uh.... yeah....
Third, AMD CPU's get more done per clock cycle than Intel's. In short, they're more efficient. A 2.4GHz AMD chip is equivlant to a 3.8GHz Intel chip.
Having said that, the market bounces back and fourth - right now, an Intel chip is a bit cheaper than it's equivalent AMD chip, but the tables turn every few months. The truth is, both manufacturers have excellent products depending on the intended application. You should favor whichever manufacturer is putting out a faster chip for the money at the moment. 6 months ago that was AMD, right now it's Intel (with their Core Duo series), I predict when AMD releases their next stepping, the ball will be back in their court.
This Intel vs AMD rant brought to you by your friendly forum computer guru,
Pete Zaria.
