Been there, done that my brother. :? It's really frustrating trynig to assist those who don't have even basic Windows navigation and operation skills. It's much better today than it was 10 years ago, believe me. Today it's mostly older/elderly people that struggle with it.
I have the same problem,I have recently been trying to teach my mom how to put music on her MP3 player, it's very frustrating.
That is why I have my mom give me a list of music she likes, and I do it for her. Much easier that way.
Well, it wasn't so much my sister that couldn't find "file", it was my mom. But my sister will say "YOU ALWAYS JUST TAKE OVER INSTEAD OF TELLING ME HOW!!!" I will say, "I'm tired of telling you where it is, and having you NOT get it at all." "I'm not stupid, stop treating me that way!" "You aren't, no, but let me show you, and PAY attention instead of claiming that I am taking over!" "But you ARE!" "Why are you such a indescisive b!tch sometimes!?!? Make up your DAMN mind!!! I can't HELP you if you keep taking the mouse away!" "MOMMMMMMMM!!! HE called me a bad word!!!" "Wow, how immature." "Well, you swore! what do you call that!??" "Erm... frustration?"

Or, the absolute worst type... "Which one is the myspace background?" "IDK, there is a lot of stuff that says background, so you should back up all the myspace code to a word document before trying that" "How do you do that? There is no save button on here???" "Copy and paste." *Sister start selecting text with cursor one line at a time* "Just hit control-A, that will take forrreever, its like 10 pages of code!" "But I only want the background part" "You don't even know what background is which! That could be the background for the comment box for all you know, this is your friend's myspace, who should have never given you their password." "Why, she trusts me." "My point exactly, now just hit control-a and be done with it!" "But I don't need all that!" "You do too, the formatting can get all screwy if you are missing stuff, plus you won't know where to put the other stuff back in!" "Yeah right" "It will! I had to REDO my page because of that!" *I start trying to hit cntrl-a* "STOP IT!" "Fine, screw up her page" "But I won't!" "You might, and with no backup that would be stupid" "I know what I am doing!" "You don't, which is why you asked for my help" "I DON"T WANT ALL THAT!" "Why? you aren't going to run out of harddrive space or anything, and its easier!" "I DON'T WANT TO" "WHY ARE YOU SO STUBBORN ABOUT NOTHING!??? YOU CAN EASILY SCREW UP THE PAGE DOING THAT!!! PEOPLE WORK A WHILE ON THESE THINGS!!!" "You're JERK!!!" "No, I'm trying to help you, and keep you from messing up another person's page"................ I think you get it. She, and my mom for that matter, will want help, and then they don't. All because I "take over" And for some reason I must be the one who slows the computer because I "download all that crap" (game demos and halo CE maps) I really don't do porn. How can I be slowing the computer if I am on reputable websites? Maybe you just don't wait for your account to load before doing a bunch of stuff.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one....

EDIT: And I don't want to do it for them, because then I become the maid. People already nag me all the time around here to do stuff for them on the computer, and I don't need a list.

Mmmmm where to start,
There are many things i hate in my life like:

1. Parents who think they know everything, but really they know nothing but they think they do and they wont sh*t up about it.
2. My brother in general, whenever i have mates over he tries act so cool and be "inventive" but just looks like a di*k head in front of everyone.
3. School, yes don't we all but this year its even worse for me, my maths teachers is like 200 kg and in the hotter months when its hotter he sweats in class, really wet and his shirt gets drenched !!!
4. People who think their cool but really arnt
5. People who say your joke right after you say it
6. Smoker !!! Omg !!! i hate them, i try to avoid them but when i have to smell that smoke it like death haha
7. Trying to teach my mother how to use the computer
8. Guys at school who think their all hardcore when really there just as*holes
9. Chicks who have muscles haha
10. People who make long pointless lists about things they hate

^^You hate your self?

I got two new one's for myself.

I'm hatin my mom's attitude towards me continuing to work on Fear. The possibility of over 130,000 ft/lbs of muzzle energy at my control seems to have sent her over the edge and know she is begging me to finish it when I get out of college.

The majority of high school girls I know. They're so desperate to have guys like them and to feel attractive they'll sleep with almost any guy and then brag about it like it's some achievement (failing to mention they were probably horribly intoxicated at the time). Then they're upset about it (because the guy was either an ass, used them, sucked at it, or was ugly as sin), but they're also upset when I guy won't sleep with them. Then they get jealous and paranoid when another girl moves in on their "man mine", and turn on the girl, even if the girl is a good friend.
Then I have to listen to all this sh*t from one of these girls (usually when I'm not very "clear headed"), and then am expected to either give advice or applaud what they've done. I swear banging my head on a wall lined with barbwire would be more fun.

Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. It's been a long couple weeks...

My little brother, he acts like he is my superior, constantly hits, kicks and punches me, then gets pissed off when i pin him down to stop him, he thinks he is more intelligent than me and more mature, and he is the least cool person i know.....

I feel your pain on that one. You'd think they'd be a bit more supportive, considering that we're actually being inventive and gaining skills by doing this, wouldn't you?

And how the hell did FEAR get to 130k ft/lbs? If you're only trying to keep ahead of me, you don't need to be worrying.

no one tries that, the only thing that got me to build my hybrid was the possibility to get some records, but i realize that i did not do that job very well, and since i acctually are planning on a brake from spudding i don't know if i will use the 8 grand on the 200x monster hybrid..

and if i do, i think you are the person to worry since i will beat the shit out of you man ;)

a 6m long 12.5cm big barrel and a chamber to mach will beat the most :)

don't be to confident since that is what's driving me towards this project ;)

I've kind of given up on the whole big gun thing for the moment - it just isn't worth the trouble in my current situation. Which is why I said don't worry about competition from me, I'm out of that field for now.

8 grand on that monster gun you were talking about would be a waste, unless you had money to burn. If you build something on that scale, there's no point doing it half-assedly.

Killjoy, I agree wholeheartedly. And 130k ft/lbs?!! There I was thinking I could get the record. I might still be able to in a semi- portable category. good luck with recoil management :D

To add to my list: my parents, who use random things as leverage to get me to do what they want, only to change their expectations, and my sister, who pisses my mom off almost daily. Today, she tried to open the garage door after we discussed going to look at it to see what was wrong with it. Atleast we had disconnected the motor.

to avoid getting this topic all hijacked by me and you we can talk over MSN, not that it is much to talk about..

the thing that worries me a little is that it is not like a dirt bike, you can't sell it when you are bored of it..

Another thing that pisses me off is when people try to be fair but completely rip someone off. I bowl in a few different leagues and today was the awards ceremony for one of the leagues. This season I was by far the best person in the league, I won all of the awards that were possible to win (six awards), but at the ceremony they said that they wanted to be fair so they would only give me half of them and give the other three to the second place people.

It just pissed me off because I worked hard for the awards but they decided to give them to people who I had beaten by quite a bit.

Lets see.... Been a while since my post in this thread, about time a make a new one.

1. L33t Sp34k.
2. Noobs USING l33t sp34k.
3. Noobs seemingly incapable of using Search OR the Spellchecker. It's there for a reason, folks.
4. Solidcore/DWV.
5. Home Depot. They seem to be phasing out the pressure rated 2' sections. Getting hard to find them anymore.
6. My limited workshop capabilities. I want a mill and a miter saw...
7. Texas legislation. Damn them, I can't build combustions because of them. No pre-loaded shell tank guns for me.

My family really isn't a hindrance to my builds. My mother and father are totally supportive of me, and my father is pretty impressed. I bet I could get away with building a really powerful cannon, the only limit would be transportability, we go to gun ranges where I could test high-power cannons on an almost weekly basis. My only limiting factors on cannon design are my skill, available materials and tools, and legislation.
Completed projects:
CA1 SMSS Basic Inline
CA3 PDAB Airburst Cannon

Current Project: Bolt action rifle (25x140mm + 1in shot)

Haha I'm not worrin, just enjoying building big. And it seems 100lb projectiles at a over 300ft/s seem to produce wonderful muzzle energies...

Well...What pisses me off is, my brother still hasn't taken my 2" posting steel piston valve to the welder yet.

Inner parts are all lathed , even the rubbers on the piston ( my famous tapered phrams, only BETTER)

I can't wait to try it.
It's gonna be used on a confetti shooter.I don;t have another project on my hands atm, so i want to get things going, but waiting for him takes forever!

He disagrees with me on everything.Just an example:
I wanted the phrams, but he insisted I use O-rings.
Took me for ever to get him to lathe them for me.
When the prhams were finally done, he suddenly realised they were far superior.
It's like this with every part, and it's not evenhis cannon!
Why doesn't he just take my word for it?!?!?!
I'm way ahead of him when it comes to his stuff!
His Chappy cannon was all my design, now he thinks he knows it all.
None of his designs work ( well) untill I get involved...

That's frustrating, ladies and gents, that's frustrating...
