My Chemical Romance is also good, but I would consider them too soft to be metal.
Avenged Sevenfold is also pretty good.
My friend highly recomends Goat Whore :?
Reel Big Fish is a good ska/rock band.

I listen to all these rock/metal bands, and I like them. However, I'm still looking into bands myself, and I also listen to techno, Jazz, classic, etc. So excuse my tastes.

Apart from some already listed:

Dimmu Borgir
Opeth

They're alright, though i'm always between 80's metal and heavy metal of today like Slipknot and Children of Bodom so I don't pick up too many new bands.

Technically they're on a break, but in the meantime Serj Tankian's solo work is brilliant, his voice is very much the definition of their style. Great live too, apart from the standard anti-bush liberal wishy-washy socialist n-word-loving red left-wing homosexual commie commentary between songs

The three keepers albums and walls of Jericho are my favorite Helloween albums.

For 80's metal Queensryche is a must :P

I like a lot of Jethro Tull too...maybe you will, it's not metal or a one-man-band btw

Also, type in your favorite band into last.fm to get more bands that are like that.

Thanks for all of the suggestments. I have seem to found some other bands that I also like. MrC mentioned Children of Bodom, I downloaded some of their songs yesterday and I seem to like them alot. 2 more bands that are really good in my opinion are Emmure and Stick to Your Guns. I think that I might be a little more hardcore then some of you guys. Thanks for the ideas though.
