It's hard to soar with eagles when you're working with turkeys.

Heres a picture of me at my first Ultimate game of the year. (I'm in the white)
My apologies, its speckled as hell, I know. It was shot at 3200 ISO, with a 5.4 fstop, and we were still only getting 1/30th shutter speeds. Night games are impossible to capture without a huge lens, the likes of which I can't afford.
Camping over the summer, sporting my "Don't worry, I'll FIX IT!" hat and Make shirt.
I got to be camp mechanic, keeping the new propane stoves running, and I did such a good job that they allowed me to have my several hours a day of private time with the Colman lanterns, coaxing them to work. My GOD they are a tinkerer's wet dream...

Do not look back, and grieve over the past, for it is gone;
Do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come;
Live life in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.

Surprised you didn't calculate 4% of the volume of one of the tents and *whooomph*Lentamentalisk wrote:I got to be camp mechanic, keeping the new propane stoves running, and I did such a good job that they allowed me to have my several hours a day of private time with the Colman lanterns, coaxing them to work. well... The problem was that the propane stoves we were using had built in regulators on the hoses, so I couldn't get enough pressure. In fact, when I tried to do the huge fireball from just opening up the tank all the way and letting it rip, there was just a little trickle. They must have some leak catch or something.
I did take some of the old white gas from the lanterns that I was cleaning out, and put it in a spray bottle. Boy did that make starting the campfire a hell of a lot easier... Who needs kindling when you have white gas? The spray bottle also made a nice flame thrower, but that is a whole different matter that I will not discus here.
On the last day of our backpacking trip we still had some white gas left in the bottom of the fuel can of our stove, so I decided to use it all to light the fire. It turns out that the ashes were still warm from the fire the previous night, and a fair amount of the fuel vaporized before I got my lighter out. When I lit it, there was a huge 4' tall fireball... The greatest part was that nobody was even frightened in the least... They all just looked over, and said, "oh, its alright, that was just Jamie trying to blow himself up again..."

I think everyone on this board has been approached with that attitude at least once

my friends were talking about how awesome it would be to make napalm. They came up to me and (jokingly I hope) asked me if I could make them some. I said "sureI know how to make napalm, its easy. The problem is, once you make napalm, you have napalm. WTF are you going to do with a bunch of napalm? Light it on fire? BAD IDEA!!!!"
I really did almost blow my self up though. It was a really stupid incident involving making my own smoke bombs on an open flame propane stove, powered by a 20lb propane tank... Lets just say I was lucky as hell that I didn't burn the house down. I even managed to keep my parents from noticing anything was wrong when they came home... (I was so Forking lucky...)

Not much to say.
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.
