Hey, fellow nerds...

I was fixing my sisters old HP mini 2133 for some scouting use, and decided to change the Windows vista to more efficient xubuntu. Well, during the installation the computer froze, and after like 20mins of being frozen it shat down. Then i tried to put it back on, and all i get is black screen, i can hear the fans etc. go on but i see nothing.

SO could it be that somehow BIOS got removed? Please help, deuce-bags at Linux forum doesn't seem to care...

Haha the light pollution is ridiculous, I can see about 10 stars. I was an hour out of the city the last few nights and made sure to go out each night and have a look as it's not something worth doing back home.

Army of Shadows is a good movie if you're in to that sort of thing. It's more of an honest look at the Resistance movement than a war film but it is memorable nonetheless and filmed beautifully.

edit: started watching a lot of WW2 films last year that I hadn't seen before; here's where things ended up by the end of the year (most of the films below I'd already seen, I didn't watch 50 war films last year haha):

1936: Die Fälscher
1936-1944: La vita è Bella
1938-1945: Hitlerjunge Salomon (Europa Europa)
1939-1940: Talvisota
1939-1945: The Pianist
1939-1945: Schindler's List
1940: Battle of Britain
1940-1945: Soldaat van Oranje
1940-1945: Max Manus
1941-1944: L'Armée du crime
1941: Das Boot
1941: Pearl Harbour
1941: Tora! Tora! Tora!
1942: Conspiracy
1942: U-571
1942-1943: The Bridge on the River Kwai
1942-1943: Enemy At The Gates
1942-1943: L'armée des ombres
1942-1943: Stalingrad
1942-1943: The Thin Red Line
1942-1945: The Big Red One
1943: Cross Of Iron
1943: Defiance
1943: The Eagle Has Landed
1943: The Guns Of Navarone
1943: Idi I Smotri
1943: Sophie Scholl: Die letzten Tage
1943-1944: Flammen & Citronen
1943-1944: The Great Escape
1943-1944: Valkyrie
1943-1944: Where Eagles Dare
1943-1945: Patton
1944: A Bridge Too Far
1944: A Midnight Clear
1944: The Dirty Dozen
1944: Inglourious Basterds
1944: Kelly's Heroes
1944: The Longest Day
1944: Saints And Soldiers
1944: Saving Private Ryan
1944: Windtalkers
1944-1945: Flags Of Our Fathers
1944-1945: The Great Raid
1944-1945: Letters From Iwo Jima

I've seen it when I was younger, does it have much war in it or is it just based during the war?

I love Soldaat van Oranje, the theme music is awesome and so is Rutger Hauer :D

Not really offtopic, but have any of you found a smaller brushless fan than this? Ripped it off of an old NVIDIA 7400GS and promptly liberated it from the heatsink and plastic frame with a dremel...

'Sup again SB. Glad I could lure you back for a while. :P

Also: Proudly (?) introducing, the one and only Ghetto™ Supply, for when you really need to check some old circuits, and don't have much lying around...

Obviously not a safe solution  , but I plan on making a final product with a more modern power supply as well... this one has a total of 1 negative rail (-12v), which I simply ignored.

These things work like a charm, working on one as we speak :D

Ideal for electrolysis, as you can draw +/- 20 amps at 20 volts
