I could barely even give parts away when I was offering free machining so I could get some reviews so I could set up a small contract machining business here...I managed to get one job, making a piston for Mobile Chernobyl's co-ax. There was a little interest, but this really isn't a place to set up a business. I'll do the odd little thing for anyone who asks nicely [who doesn't shit me] for roughly the price of postage...But really, not a good commercial venture.saefroch wrote:That's where this thing called "friendship" comes in... we send things to each other and just pay for the postage. It's been done many times.warhead052 wrote:There is coming from people who don't have access to lathes, mills, drill presses, you name it.
A company like ultimate spudguns does a lot better due to their exposure to guests, while a member run machining business will only really attract more experienced members.

... not to mention they have the benefit of a veritable army of CNC machines.inonickname wrote:A company like ultimate spudguns does a lot better due to their exposure to guests, while a member run machining business will only really attract more experienced members.
