Very true. I built this one completely from parts though so I guess I felt a little better about it, but still not the same as sawing into some pipe yourself.mobile chernobyl wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 5:41 pmI don't know about you but no amount of fancy ARs or AKs, custom built or exotic auction win will ever seem to replace the feeling you get after completing a big "spud" launcher and firing it off for the first time.
I've even had the honor to shoot .50 BMGs out here in Colorado at truly long ranges and also rapid fire at big steel barrels...
Nope - that hybrid golf ball gun will always have top dibs haha.

In adulthood it is gratifying to add some movie classics from one's adolescence to the collection
I'll agree however that it's nowhere near as satisfying as designing and building your own.

A really excellent video from 1969 following Master Gunsmith Wallace Gusler as he builds a flintlock rifle from start to finish using traditional tools and techniques:
Seeing someone make their own screws using only hand tools makes you realize just how much we take for granted these days.

It's possible, having been filmed when my parents were adolescents I would not be surprised, however I don't recall having seen it before.

Even though it's my bread and butter, my personal airsoft gun collection has never been extensive. I recently found an old (probably made in the early 2000s) Tokyo Marui MP5SD6 however, and to scratch an itch turned it into a 30 round per second CQB machine, complete with the latest in bluetooth-connected fire control technology
