My brother made a pipe out of babmboo and a thimble, by making a hole in the bamboo big enough for the thimble to set in. He now is looking for glue to glue the thimble into the bamboo and wasn't sure of what kind of glue to use, because most glue might melt.

So, does anyone know what kind of glue he could use that won't melt?

hahahaha a pipe. thats hilarious. Would it be possible to just friction mount the thimble with a shim of some sort. I may be able to help you more if you had a picture.

Yeah, JB Weld laughs at high temperatures. Although I don't know how well it sticks to bamboo.

I wouldn't use epoxy if I were you, it can give you cancer if it burns. (although, so can whatever is going in this pipe)

If anyone was wondering why he asked about using plaster to make a piston, now you know.

Edit: interesting fact, the bamboo b*ng is said to be like 8000+yr.s old.

That would make it older than most religions maybe.
