polycarbonate camera case

I made a quick box for my camera at work out of half inch polycarbonate, I'm going to call this one a prototype because it was unable to hold up to a .38 and is now in multiple pieces. (I took the camera out before shooting it with the 38 ) I did however have my friend shoot it with his .220 with the camera in it. I'm going to make a better stronger one when I have a chance.

Why would you like to stop .38 bullets?

I only use a lexan plate for protecting my lense against shrapnel flying off the target. It has survived everything so far.

Many hardware stores carry Polycarbonate sheets. You will find it in the window section. It is common for window glazing. It is storm proof and resists break-ins as it is shatter resistant. If your town has a security company that sells bars and other door and window protection, they will also carry the stuff. It is sold by many brand and trade names including Lexan.

I shot it with a 38 just to take it to its failure point to see how and where it fails so I can make a better one in the future.
