It's been a while since I've posted a topic.

here's my trebuchet.

I have flung golf balls over 400 feet.

about 125-150 pounds of counterweight.

the throwing arm is a little over 4 feet long.

it is on wheels to increase efficiency and mobility. me and my friends pull it through subdivisions with his golf cart.

the shafts the throwing arm and free-swinging counterweight are tempered spring steel.

the release pin is tapered stainless steel.

any questions or comments?

i had a short piece of rope with a rock tied to it lol. The rope fell off the rock and rock made its maiden voyage to my face.

Lol my first potato gun ( 1" ball valve) i underestimated the power and shot through a keyboard and some thin wood at a pine tree the golfball bounced back right between my upper lip and nose. Lol my mom got all freaked out because of the reddish-purple mark on me.

yep, it says black plague.

I've flung baseballs, yogurts, eggs, pound steel balls, screwdrivers, and other misc objects.

while not as powerful as the swat, it is cool to fire just because of the mechanical-ness

I did use longer rope but the rock did the same thing, I stood beside the trebuchet instead of behind it that time.

schmanman, were you by any chance inspired by that trebuchet that can fling a car?

ya i thought it said "Black Plaque". you should have a competition the "Black Plaque" vs. the swat gun. the swat guns barrel is like half as long as that thing can throw lol.

well, actually, Before I built the swat, I started on one with a railroad tie frame, and a 30 (or 16, or 26) foot aluminum boat mast, (I forget which one) as the throwing arm.

I never finished it just because it would be so unsightly on the side of my barn.
