What is stopping the spring pushing all of the ammo into the breech?

Mmm key. What you are doing, in theory, should work well. Your mag works on the same principal that most airsoft mags work, so there is no reason why it wont work.

You just need a weak-ish, long spring about the same diamerter as the inside of the pipe, or else the spring will bend instead of compressing. Also may need to add a piece of cardboard (or a piston) between the spring and the ammo, so that it pushes it.

Good Luck!

if your Tee is wider than the barrel diameter, the spring could make the projectiles jam to prevent them from valling out ordinarily, but it will then feed normally when pressure flows through. This is how the magazine on the Baikal Drozd works:

the spring is only going to be strong enough to push the projectiles and inside the tee will be pipe with the same diameter as the barrel when i get a chance to get all the parts i'll tell you all how it goes
