I wondered what a high speed blast of air would do to something, so at point blank, I fired blank shots out of my burst disk/ball valve sniper at paper.
Ball valve 70psi
Burst disk 70psi
Opening time>psi
Both at 70psi from point blank with the Gepárd SSAMR.

My cannon is simply a ball valve behind a burst disk.
It luckily gives a 2 sec delay from actuating the ball valve and the disk ruptureing, giveing time for aiming and turning the ball vlave.

Thats some freaky tearing on the burst disk one.
I can't say I've personally opened up on a sheet of A4 at point blank with an air round but that sheet's been torn in half and bits were nibbled from the edges.
Very odd.
But otherwise, yeah opening time improves air dumping a lot. You just can't manually open a ball valve in anything like the time a disk splitting or a pressure difference in a piston/diaphragm can.

"Wtf thats not possible" Looks at the ripped edges*
edit: The paper was leaning against the barrel, no backrest. It flew about 3 feet back...
Edit: In pieces
