Snipalux by X3

Hello everybody, I'm X3, from France and I will show you my home made airgun, inspired by all creations seen here !

Quick description :
- pressure rating : 8 bars/110psi at the moment
- trigger : hose gun (for gardening !)
- air tank : aluminium water bottle (600 cubic cm)
- aluminum barrel 1m by 14mm ID
- breech loading
- scope 12*20 for accuracy
- piston valve in 3/4" brass tee
- length : 1M05
- hand pump bought in sport store (can pump 12 bars/220psi)
Damages :
- a 3mm*60mm dart can go through 1000 pages of newspaper (annuary?) or 20mm of wood

It looks great but you have created a lot of dead space.I suspect you did that for the breech loading T at the back of the barrel

Wich is okay, a lot better still then a ballvalve.And the T loader is great, I made one just like that 6 years ago, but with a ballvalve.

At first I couldn't figure out where your piston was, then i read your post again, and it seems like you've got a good bit of dead space there.

Yeah, I know that i've a lot of dead space between my piston and ammo, and my pilot volume isn't good so...but that's for handling only, and it helped me to create my breech loading !
Anyway, power isn't so decreased as i've imagined...(don't know if my english is good, sorry)

Its funny that every time I see a gun from France its got one of those hose triggers. I like it though, it's a nice touch. I'm just not familiar with the pressure it can handle is all.

I'm curious about the bend from the 3/4" tee to the hose trigger. It looks like aluminum tubing, but I could be wrong. Just wondered how you connected it is all.

You are allright about hose triggers, and i'll explain you why we often use it...it offers good air flow to pilot piston AND it's very important, because QEV are not sell in France...

The tube which connect piston valve and trigger is made of aluminium, bent with a blow torch and glued with epoxy, like other brass fittings...

EDIT : those triggers are not pressur rated, but all made of metal and tested here in France by memebers with 30bars, and I use it with only max 10bars

Oh wait.I've just noticed the bolt action thing.You could just load by unscrewing the plug on the T at the back of the barrel.
And scrap the breech loader .

I bet that would seal better, and give you extra barrel lenght

Looks amazing, But I don't exactly understand where the piston is located, although I can tell you could have placed it much better

Overall though, sweet gun, I love those garden sprayers, The only ones I have seen here would open with pressure input from the front, so I cannot use that method for triggering

I don't understand very well your suggestion...my breech loading is very well sealed when closed, and the screw cp behind the barrel is used to load and longer ammo like crossbow darts

A compact setup... too bad you had to include the wasted dead space to get it. Overall though, the gun looks solid and ergonomic.

They are typically European with a French touch.

I can't fault your workmanship but it's a real pity about the terribly inefficient design. Ergonomics are important but in this case it's probably too much of a compromise.

Take a look here for some inspiration, it's possible to have a launcher that's easy to hold and much more efficient.
