Hey, S'goin on all it's Drop here again, posting for a change , anyways I thought I'd go ahead and bust out the Ole Double Bogey.Its a sniper version of a golf ball gun that I actually started 3 years ago and it is still in the Unfinished stage, It still needs a good paintjob, A Big Scope, A new bipod mount, A magazine ported barrel attachment, and some other little aesthetic type things, all soon to come.I know its been way overdue but here go's anyway ,some information and pics for you all.

First and formost after I decide on some kind of idea ,I usually use the floor of the hardware center as my work table and I practically design the thing right there as It just seems to work good for me. Sometimes guys that work there will see you and wanna help out and find parts for you too!


The first section I built was the chamber which actually happens to practically be doublewalled with fittings in its entirity for saftey's sake. The length of it all adds up to make for a very nice C to B ratio.
I did the top and bottom sections up first and then fitted them together afterwards. That way I was entitled to install a nice gauge inside of the stock, that I later found out didnt work to bad.


Next the handle and plumbing,including so many different fittings, and the valves, which were each 1" modded to pnuematic operation and synchro'd together including a blowgun trigger and safety valve. I believe the two 1"s are better if not as good as a single 2" and they synchronize together very well and I have them configured for ON OFF action just need a big enough Air source to keep up for some good semi action. The manifold to the barrel acts as a nice front grip and obviously is plugged off with epoxy on the unfinished end where there will be a new bipod mount and sliding barrel support. It is also ready for any new barrel size or attachment that I please. Also the main handle has a 3 port manifuld fitting that used to include just a swivel male quick connect, a shrader valve, and a safety pop set to 155. After I realised the main pressure gauge in the stock didnt work I traded the schrader for a temp gauge.


The breach loading barrel attachment I made and fabricated from a 2" repair coupling and some large O-rings and a piece of 2" ripped down to 1 5/8" or so, and it does leak a little and could use a nice slide lock to keep it firm when firing.

Next was the funnest part the barrel itself which happens to be made from two parts of the same 2" sch 40 pipe, one half ripped down the table saw away very carefully about 7/8 of an inch or so, that wasnt quite enough and when it came to sleeving it I ended up sledge hammering it together for over one hour and let me tell you the inside actually stretched the outside and there appear to be no seems and it actually created the best tightest seal I could have asked for even better than sdr 21. Definatly going to experiment with a hop up soon.

Now I know this thing is lengthy and heavy but it does exactly what I intended it to do and that is send a golf ball about a half mile at 150 psi and blow a perfect hole through 1 inch ply with a titanium golf ball. Oh buddy Its spring time can't wait to fill my co2 tank and cast a few thousand lead weighted resin and ATH balls with my new golf ball mold

I've been thinking of the same breech design for my tennis ball launcher but I am concerned about the amount of air that would be lost through the gap of the sleeve. Now tennis balls have a tighter fit but how much air do you feel coming out of your sleeve?

Well lets just say if I hold the barrel snug to the breach with my left hand there is no leak at all when firing. So a simple slide lock and you have yourself a nice breach. The only drawback is the repair couplings cost around $20-30

Check check, other than that it ends up being completely sealed with O rings, the gap inside hardly makes a difference I think the small amount of air that passes around the ball through the gap actually creates less pressure/resistance ahead in the barrel to have to push against, but I understand now what you mean and I do plan on filling the gap just right so the golf ball has a little ledger so sit in. Its only a small area before the ball reached the tightly sealed barrel.

Good job. I like the setup.

There is some room for improvement:
-Shorten hose. Make it go straight.
-From the bottom sprinkler, there is a T next to it. I know that its just for looks, but that useless piece of pipe is creating extra dead space. I hope you filled up piece of pipe next to the T.
An elbow would've been better.

I assume this is a single barrel, double valve gun....I'm trying to figure out if the bottom section is a barrel or not. Apparently it is not. The name double bogie sort of implies a double barrel design.

It is a cool looking design overall. My only caution is the gauge on the bottom is a little vulnerable to be brutilized.

Thanks for checkin' it out guys, its my first golf ball gun and is totally unfinished and does need some tweaking and improvements done to it. Yes the pilot plumbing could be shortened but believe it or not I cut the tube to length exactly so the total pilot volume synchronizes well together between the valves. Any shorter and one valve would open before the other strange I know but no 2 valves are really the same. Also the bottom valve exhaust tube is plugged with 3 inches of epoxy all the way up to the T so there is no real dead space both valves dump straight into the barrel, its not just for looks ,also gonna glue up a bipod mount and an extra barrel support as the barrel is very heavy for its length. And the gauge on the bottom is only temporary untill I find a better location. It needs to be finished maybe this weekend I will complete it
