my first project, as you can see the solder part is bad, but that was my first try, and it's working

thanks anyway for the people who helped me answer my questions for building my first gun, respect!
Wooden Pneumatic Air Gun. (with video)
nice especially for a first. A bit blocky in my opinion, but nice. Do you use the ball valve to fire? how do you fill it etc., etc....
Edit sory I mean do you use a schrader valve to fill?
p.s. add some closeups of the gun along with some damage pics
p.p.s. you should ad a QEV (Quick Exhaust valve) You can buy one from McmasterCarr or from launch potatoes.com. a custom piston valve wouldn't be a bad idea either. it would help aiming and would tremendously increase power.

it looks pretty cool - I like it a lot...
with a belt sander you could nicely round off the edges
good job on using threaded fittings on this - this will pay you ten fold in hte future
also it seems that you could easily mod this gun to use a QEV (in this way you could get MOAR power and use a blowgun where the trigger should be, which will improve both ergonomics and accuracy)

Actually, even though I don't like the position of the ball valve (for triggering) I think it's a great effort, and a beautiful looking launcher. Kudos on design
-Speed is a question of money; How fast do you want to go?
Nice build, looking at the stock you can tell it took some time that said it doesn't look very ergonomic or that visually appealing. Why did you cut the back part out?

WOW! For a first gun that's very nice!

it's for the looking of the gun, i dont like a full stock of wood.jonnyboy wrote:Nice build, looking at the stock you can tell it took some time that said it doesn't look very ergonomic or that visually appealing. Why did you cut the back part out?
