i have decided on making a heat molded pvc grip for the handle i plan on making it much like the one that i put the link on...
my oven is heating up to 400 right now, i plan on just bending about a foot long piece of 1" pvc at about a 60 degree angle then squeezing it while still hot to make the finger indentions in the front...

any suggestions?

What about acetone + expanded polystyrene? No need to fuss with ovens (plus you really don't want to be heating PVC *cough cough etc.*)

No talk of shooting animals... It's in the rules.

Btw I'd go with half inch chamber. You'll get 30 ft very accurate with darts.

PVC is a thermoplastic, meaning that under the correct conditions it can be heated and molded without releasing any chemicals/carcinogens.

Small game can be and is taken regularly with air guns, no one's disputing that, but rules is rules...

Yeah, but it's not necessarily hard to do. Using a heat gun (NOT a blow dryer) or sticking it in the oven for a while and keeping an eye on it both work fine.

Having molded PVC pipe for some of my cannons, I can not recommend the method for finger grips, but it works well for bending. The pipe softens to something that resembles a garden hose. If you ever squeezed a garden hose by hand to make intents, you will notice this is very difficult. It will not mold like modeling clay. When reheated and softened again, it returns to it's original shape.

Bear this in mind before proceeding. Use oven or other hot item insulation. Holding a piece of PVC that is hotter than boiling water while it cools is not recommeded to do with bare hands.

Once bent, it can be quickly cooled by running cool water through it while holding the shape.

I gently heat mine outdoors about a foot over the end of a propane torch. Keep it moving quickly. It will rapidly toast if left to overheat a spot. Keep it out of the flame. Just slowly roast it till it softens and turns to a garden hose softness.

would the homemade polystyrene be good to make pistons.
is it the same as petrol and polystyrene
